Proudly presenting the DECEMBER 2021 issue of Sacramento Magazine. This month's cover feature is all about the region's TOP DOCS, with hopes none of you will need to consult it. Because even though we’ve probably all played Operation, no one wants to feel like that poor guy on our cover.
Also in this issue, Erika Mailman writes about a group of four ultra-athletes who retraced the route of the Forlorn Hope, an 1846–47 expedition that set out from the snowbound Donner Party in hopes of finding help. Keith Sutter’s stunning photographs show the starkness of the journey and help us imagine how much more vicious it would’ve been almost 175 years ago. Catherine Warmerdam catches up with members of the Sacramento Choral Society & Orchestra, one performing arts group that has not returned to in-person rehearsals or performances during the pandemic.
Warm wishes to everyone this holiday season, and thank you for reading Sacramento Magazine in 2021!
