Baptismal Font

Marble font stem and basin, stained wood font cover, and cast bronze figure of St. John the Baptist, placed in the South Transept. The font holds baptismal water used in the solemn administration of the sacrament. Decorated with inlaid marble and 8 medallions of images of baptism - Noah’s ark, skull of Adam, shell, fish, Jonah and the whale, hyssop, dove with branch, stag drinking from water (Psalm 42).
