Basic Tissue Physiology – Understanding the Saddle Fitting Problem Before you can solve a problem, you need to really understand what the tissues Require to remain healthy based on Peer Review Scientific Research. Basic Saddle Construction Methods and Padding This is a review of the various types of saddles and types of saddle pads This session will use the interface pressure mapping system to show the actual Pressure caused by different saddle designs and the limitations of padding strategies Basic Saddletech Gauge Horse and Saddle Measurement This session will teach how to measure the 3-D shape of the horse’s back with the Saddletech Gauge FDXX. Then the use of the “Weight Compensation Formula” Will be explained to compensate for gravitational forces. This technique will then Be validated employing Computer Interface Pressure Measurement.

Hands On Operation of Computer Saddle Interface Pressure Measurement This is where the rubber meets the road. This session will familiarize the participants with The intricacies of computer pressure mapping. Each participant will actually operate the Computer system static and interpret the data. Acquisition of Static and Dynamic Saddle Measurement Data This session will go from static to dynamic measurements. By focusing on the difference Between static and dynamic, a better understanding of what constitutes a “Good Fit” and A “Bad Fit” is visually demonstrated. Interpretation of Computer Scan Relating to Saddle Fit. This session will focus on interpretation of some more complex scans relating to high Performance applications.

Basic Three Dimensional Saddle Measurement This session will demonstrate how to use the Saddletech Gauge FDXX Balance Beam To create the “Z” axis in the saddles and measure the 3-D shape of the saddle. SmartFit Wizard Saddle Database and MS Excel The session will demonstrate how to enter data into the SmartFit Wizard Database To search of saddles. It will also address the use of MS Excel to build a local Saddle Database for an equestrian facility to document saddle fit over time. Introduction to Computer Interface Saddle Pressure Measurement This session will demonstrate the basic use of Computer Saddle Interface Pressure Measurement to validate how the SmartFit Wizard is able to be so accurate. 2

Adjusting the Saddle Fit using the Gauge and Pressure Mapping This session will demonstrate how to use the gauge and the computer pressure map to calibrate the “Formula” for more sophisticated applications by creating a feedback loop. ThisTechnique is also called the “Scientific Method”. Adjusting the Saddle Fit using padding, Shims and Orthotics This session will use a variety of pads, shims and orthotics to adjust poorly fitting saddles. This is a very educational session, because it dispels many myths about saddles and pads. Advance Research Applications This session wis driven by the participants to develop of “prototcol” to test any saddle fitting theory that the participants find and interest. Now this is where things really get Interesting.
