Center of Contemporary Art Final Project [Individual Project, Supervised by Aliasghar Adibi PhD]

In central Tehran, quite close to Tehran Museum of Contemporary Arts, and in the same park where the museum is located, I proposed that an art center should exist for artists, in which they can hold galleries, concerts, workshops, etc. The Center of Contemporary Art functions as a complement to the museum which already hosts galleries from artists all around the globe, but lacks a space to offer to artists where they can create their work. Required Spaces: Library Lobby Gallery/Workshop x 4 Amphitheater Hall of Fame CafĂŠteria Facilities

Vast free space where artists can hold outdoor performances and/or galleries (Red) and stairs as a place to rest or watch the events (Green)

Main Entrance (Red) and a separate entry for the galleries (Green)

Two interior courts to provide light and fresh air to the functions

Oudla jan Residential Complex Architectural Design 5 [ Individual Project, Supervised by Sedigheh Masaeli PhD]

Oudla jan is the oldest district of Tehran, where the village of Tehran was located before modern buildings mushroomed into its current boundaries. Nowadays, this district is struck by urban decay, and unused buildings and lands prevail the area. In the Pamenar quarter, demonstrated on the map, there is an area where vacant lands and buildings make up the ma jority of space. In this design course, we proposed a residential complex which can resuscitate the decayed district by providing decent houses and public spaces. Required Spaces: 60 apartments in various sizes for different requirements Proposed Spaces: Marketplace 60 Parking Spots

Ubran Forum

Architectural Design 3 [Individual Project, Supervised by Aliasghar Adibi PhD]

There is an art-deco building in Taleghani St., Tehran, designed and built in 1930’s by Vartan Hovanessian, Iranian modernist architect, which used to be a house for a friend of his. The aim of this project was to design an extension to this building and to turn it into a center for institutions of architecture and urbanism, in which they have representative offices to hold events and workshops, named Urban Forum. Required Spaces: Existing Building: Library Gift Shop Storage Education Dept. Institutions Office New Construction: Lobby Gallery Conference Rooms Amphitheater Roof Garden

First three levels of the new building are in harmony with the existing building, to facilitate the movement from one to another.

The structure is designed in a way to have the least interference with the public functions and to provide relatively more space.

A stairway is designed to surround the building and provide users with different experiences of views to the cityscape around the site, and also it connects the court to the rooftop, while giving access to all the levels. 23

Villa in Afrachal

Architectural Design 3 [Individual Project, Supervised by Aliasghar Adibi PhD]

The subject of this project was to design a villa for 6 people, a young couple, two grandparents, and two children, in a suburb area of Tehran. I chose Afrachal, a semi-mountainous village near the dam-lake of Lar. The method of design used in this project was the method proposed by the professor, using collages to create an ambiental guiding image, and then sketching and making models to interpret the space present in each collage.

BLACKBOX

Architectural Design 1 [Individual Project, Supervised by AmirSaeid Mahmoudi PhD]

This theater in Ekbatan is designed as a blackbox, to give more freedom to directors, specially the avant-garde ones, who usually don’t follow the traditional forms of theater; But with equipments like elevating platforms, this blackbox can host various forms & types of performances.

Materials and form are harmonious to those of existing buildings of Ekbatan. ENTRANCE VIEW

COMPETIOTION & PROFESSIONAL

Section of the stairs showing the equipment to collect the water

Hemasi Fountain/Stairs Competition, 2012 [ Group Project]

In a competition held by the Municipality of Tehran, designers were asked to choose a location to design a fountain in. Masih Barin, Erfan Akhavan & I participated in this competition as a group, in which we chose Hemasi Stairs in North Tehran. Hemasi Stairs is one of the sets of stairs in the district of AbbasAbad, where the terrain is wrinkly. We selected these stairs, as in a mostly flat city, stairs in the street have the potential to be known as a special space. We decided to grab the opportunity to introduce a fountain in an urban space which can function as an urban gathering place too.

Jewelry in Bazaar Professional, Arcesarc Design, 2016

For redesigning this small jewelry in Grand Bazaar, Tehran, I had to consider everything at the minimal level. By adding a simple structure to the ceiling, I resolved the problem of lack of storage in this shop, and I also provided this small area with a rest space for the shopkeeper.

52

Ameh Bookstore Professional, Arcesarc, 2016

In this project, to design the facade of Ameh Bookstore, I proposed some alternatives, and one of them was accepted by the owner. Unfortunately, it was not built, due to financial problems of the bookstore. The form of the accepted design was derived from the cover of a book, and was in harmony with the somewhat classical romanesque interior ambience of the bookstore.
