Another turning point; A fork stuck in the road. Time grabs you by the wrist; Directs you where to go. So make the best of this test and don't ask why. It's not a question but a lesson learned in time. It's something unpredictable But in the end it's right. I hope you had the time of your life. So take the photographs And still frames in your mind. Hang it on a shelf In good health and good time. Tattoos of memories And dead skin on trial. For what it's worth, It was worth all the while. It's something unpredictable But in the end it's right. I hope you had the time of your life. So make the best of this test and don't ask why. It's not a question but a lesson learned in time. It's something unpredictable But in the end it's right.

Have The Time All 1,270 of us are here shaping the school. Starting with a strong foundation we have grown from the ground up. With dozens of clubs and events we have the ability to branch out and reach new heights. With events like Homecoming, Prom, Dance Marathon, Powder Puff, and our thriving sports teams we have built long lasting camaraderie. Together starting as freshmen we mold the memories that will follow us into the future. These memories will last a lifetime, just like our friends. Friendship is something hard to find but here at our school we come across the ones that stay by our side. These four years have flown by preparing us for the unpredictable. Through the years
it s undeniable that we have had the 0
time of our lives.

Red Ribbon week is a popular hit, involving all of the cars in the parking lots getting red ribbons to show and remind the significance of this cause. Many students keep the ribbons on until they are shredded and worn away. Also, SADD raises money through their Valentine's Day rose sale. This brings in a lot of money to the cause and helps to celebrate the holiday in a fun way. SADD is a nation-wide club, in sponsorship with Mothers Against Drunk Driving, and is a worthy cause that these students are showing their dedication.

These Springfield students know exactly where they want to be in their careers. In association with Delaware County, we have students involved in programs titled Med-tech. Students are able to learn and participate in their preferred field of studies. With tests and projects just like school, students get to study, research and practice under their profession of choice. Our Springfield students have a lot of fun with these and succeed every year. We also have a Vo-tech program which allows students to learn about other careers such as a cosmetologist, automobile mechanic, automotive technician, contractor and many more. Unfortunately we were not able to acquire Vo-tech pictures, we apologize to those students.

Our apologies go out to... We apologize to the many clubs and activities that did not make it in this year. Due to teacher negotiations it was hard for clubs to meet and therefore we have a lack of pictures.
S.TA.R.E S.T.A.R.E. stands to promote student awareness within animal rights. This year the club worked hard in collecting and sending donations to various shelters. These Springfield students get involved within the community and spread the student involvement through animal rights and environmental concerns.
Literary Magazine Writers and artists together share, explore and express their talents through the magazine.
National Honors Society National Honors Society is a collection of students that are chosen based on their academic and community involvement. This year they helped host the Family Feud which was a success for Thon money.
W.E.B. DuBois Honors Society This is the National Honors Society to promote academic excellence and pride in cultural heritage. 78

Music Man
Winter Musical
The Music Man this year was a huge success. "One of the best musicals Springfield has had in ages", many spectators raved. Many hours of cast, stage crew, pit band and directors were spent to put this sold out show together and it was well worth it. Good job to all who were involved. It definitely was a success. 83
The Dynasty... The third annual Powder Puff football game was held this year on November 13th. The juniors put up a good fight but the senior "dynasty" team defeated once again. The dynasty team won against the last year's seniors and continued their streak this year. The football players coached the girls from teams of the juniors and seniors, as they played each other. The final score was 27-0, but it was a good game. In the end all of the proceeds went for the kids. From this game we raised $1,200 for the Dance Marathon. Next year hopefully the juniors will be able to overcome this loss.

The Build Up . . .
In order to make this years Steve Stefani Dance Marathon a success many factors helped us raise our money. Students stood outside of our local Wawa "canning" for money, and earned a good amount that wentto Thon. Also, students vollunteered for a babysitting night, along with other activities.. Along with the Powder Puff football game, students donated money to be involved in the Pie Eating Contest at school. This year Mr. McCann took home the title. The leadership team worked hard to teach the line dance and decorate as our record breaking Dance Marathon came close.

On March 27th, the parents, teachers, students, and community members all got involved to help the Four Diamonds Fund. This year Springfield High School hosted many guests including Joe Sestak, John Main, the Bush family, the Danzi family and also the Meli family. Students stayed on their feet for 15 hours getting involved in activities such as floor hockey, dodgeball, and crafts for the kids. Throughout these hours students danced to techno music, "old school" music, and many more themed hours. At the end of 15 hours and 15 line dances, along with sore feet and aching bodies, it was all worth it. Because of the economic state that our nation is in we shot for the goal of $80,000. With the community s dedication and a great leadership team run by Mr. Gildea and Tara Tayan we surpassed our goal of $80,000 tremendously. SHS is now number one for mini-thons in the state. This is our second year in a row as top in the state. Springfield High School's Steve Stefani Dance Marathon of 2009 raised the record breaking total of $110,336.85 FOR THE KIDS! 0

Alternative Beverage Day Alternative Beverage Day, sponsored by students against destructive decisions encourages students to stay safe through the holidays. This is an ongoing tradition for Springfield High School, where the band plays and students socialize in the cafeteria. Hot chocolate, apple cider, and other holiday foods are also a plus. Since this is the last day before winter break many dress up and get into the holiday spirit, with sweaters and hats and even themed shirts.

World Champions!!!!
Another major event that occured doing the 2009 season for the Philles is that we lost the voice of the game. On Apriil 13,2009 Harry Kalas had died doing the thing that
20 years in the making the Philadelphia Phlil ies were able to finally bring it home. The city of brotherly love and the students of Springfield High School lined the streets to cheer on the World Series team as they traveled down the streets of Philadelphia to make their way to their home field of Citizens Bank Park to celebrate their winning season. 91
Making History Close-Up This year ten Springfield students had the chance to experience the inauguration Close-Up . With this program these students were able to go to the nation s capital to witness the inauguration of President Barack Obama. These ten students were able to join with students from all over the country and share this experience. Meeting Joe Sestak and visiting various monuments were just a few activities they participated in. Students also had the chance to see the inaugural concert, and even had their own inaugural ball to end to inauguration experience. In just a week these ten students met new friends and had a the chance of a lifetime to see history in the making. 1

In the news... This year brought out the worst economic conditions since the Great Depression. The stock market crashed and caused many job losses. The economic conditions were a major factor in the recent election. Now with the Stimulus Plan from president Obama the economy will hopefully be going in the right direction.
The summer Olympics also brought out a new star, Michael Phelps. He now holds the record of 14 Olympic gold medals; the most by any Olympian. Along with the highlights of this school year, we also lost a few key members to the public eye. One including Bernie Mac who starred in The Bernie Mac Show, Charlie's Angels, Ocean's Eleven and many more hits. Hollywood also lost a famous Natasha Richardson who was known for her performances in the London theatres and starring in movies like The Parent Trap and Maid in 94
Slumdog Millionaire takes over the Oscars.
2008-2009
We Watch Dawkins Fly Away
This school year of 2008-2009 gave us many headlines. These of course included the big events like the election, stock market crash, and the Olympics; just to name a few. Also in the line of sports we had the Pittsburgh Steelers win the Superbowl and the Phillies take home the World Series. Slumdog Millionaire was a hit along with High School Musical 3 hitting the big screen. Country Singer Taylor Swift also became one the big break out stars of the year. Many stories hit the headlines, this page just captures a few.
Twilight, the movie premiered in November as a box office hit. Based on the popular book by Stepanie Meyer, it is about a teenage girl risking it all when she falls in love with a vampire. This movie gave the lead actor, Robert Pattinson his breakout role. Fans have lined up for hours to meet him, the famous "Edward". Plans are already set for the next in the series, New Moon to premiere.
On the left, we had a miracle on the Hudson. Pilot Sullenberger's plane hit a bird and needed to land. He landed the plane safely onto the river and every single passenger evacuated and survived this incredible landing.
On the right is the Governor of Illinois Rob Blagojevich. Blagojevich made the headlines this year for allegedly trying to sell Barack Obama's Senate seat. He was later impeached from his position.

would like to thank the faculty and staff at SHS for a memorable 4 years. My favorite activities include the GSA, the musicals, and hanging out with Mr. Trout during gold pass. I would like to personally thank Mr. Trout for being an inspiration to all, and for being one of few teachers willing to spend time everyday just having a conversation. It is almost impossible to spend time with Mr. Trout without learning something new, often about yourself. The class I will miss most is Woodshop.1

of Memories...

Shaped by what we make it, Springfield High School has been our home for four years. These four years have molded us into the people we will become. It has given us the ability to succeed in the future. We took tests, took trips, took responsibility; all in the end to make the friends we will keep forever. With these friends we captured memories that will last a lifetime. Even though these years have flown by, leaving is just the beginning. Springfield High School has taught us camaraderie, confidence and courage. What we take from Springfield will stay with us as we go on to bigger and better things. The moments we have had here are the moments that will define us as we grow. Even though we will walk away and changes will occur, we have left footprints in the halls that we entered as freshman and left as seniors. As we leave this school, we all take something different with us, but the end is just a new beginning. Wherever your future may lead you, cougar pride still stays with you.
It's something unpredictable But in the end it's right.
I hope you had the time of your life
