IDEALIZATION OF BUILDING GEOMETRY AND STRUCTURAL SYSTEMS

The geometry of the vaults was based on the photogrammetric models. While the main entrance composed of van-central vault and tow ribbed-vault on the sides, the west and east galleries composed on 12 succession vaults. The profile of each rib was obtained from the point cloud, the cross-sections were simplified to rectangular cross section with same are moments of inertia.

After finalizing the historical and geometrical documentation of the building, the point cloud was created from the photogrammetric model, then imported into AutoCAD and Rhino. Using these software, the building modelled as nine unique units as demonstrated below, first imported and validated in Diana separately, then combined together for nonlinear analysis later on.
