Description of activity undertaken (pleasebe as specific as possible) The student completed a period of research on their chosen brand/product including basic history, prior advertising, SWOT analysis, place in market and target audience; participated in several ideas creation workshops; developed a range of advertising ideas, and used the material and knowledge gained to develop a presentation pitch for a TV Commercial production. In pairs students then peer reviewed their presentations and agreed next steps for improvements.

Assessment criteria (to which the activity provides evidence)

P2, M2, D2, P3, M3, D3, P4, M4, D4, P5, M5, D5

How the activity meets the requirements of the assessment and grading criteria (please explain how the learner met the criteria and the qualitative aspects of their performance) Excellent methodology for research and terminology. Excellent eye contact – relaxed into it, but did ‘urm’ initially. Nice variation in vocal tone and good body positioning. Appropriate demeanour – eye contact and dress. Well structured presentation with excellent slides to support. Graphs for research info, effective combination of text and image on a consistent subtly product based background with constant logo etc. Presentation obviously proof read, spell and grammar checked etc. Identified key areas of audience from research, acknowledgement of weaknesses and solutions to those – caffeine intake – specific caffeine target – energy without excess. Used appropriate advertising and audience vocabulary, morphological matrix and inversion theories integrated nicely. Strategies clear and precise – considered all angles – and idea pitched clearly tied to feasibility study and current regulations, expansion of product sales into male audience. Fantastic level of research and ingenuity – ‘lonely calorie’. Requirements explained in conjunction to audiences and research. Grade Awarded: D2, D3, D4, D5
