The design starts from a simple box, with additions Through the orientation, use of materials, & subtractions, creating an innovative form. lighting & push - pull of masses, the form is derived.
Due to heavy winds in the west a water body Green balconies & twisting louvers are is placed, followed by wind tunnel effect incorporated on the northern facade to allow creating a narrow passage inside the building indirect light & fresh air. for better air circulation .
WEST WALL DETAIL Aim : To design a sustainable office building Site area : 2.40 acres Building population : 2557 persons COOLING PAD
A
The West facade, inspired from a conventional Desert cooler, Firstly, funnels the air into the building & cooled by evaporative cooling. It is then purified while passing through the cooling pad, providing cool air indoors.

RAJA GOPURAM
INTACH DOCUMENTATION YAGANTI TEMPLE
The temple has a massive 5-tier raja gopuram along with dwajasthambham, which was erected in Vijayanagara style of architecture and built out of white granite stone. Raja gopurams with multiple tiers became a salient feature of all the temples built by the Vijayanagara kings during 15th century.
HISTORY OF THE TEMPLE :
Sage agastya wanted to build a temple for lord Venkateshwara at this place. However, the statue could not be installed as it had a broken toe nail. As he was upset he performed penance to please lord Shiva. Lord Shiva appeared and said that the present site resembled Kailash. Sage agastya then pleased lord Shiva to reside with Parvathi as Lord Uma Maheshwara in a single stone.
8th century
10th century
cholas (main temple)
western chalukyas (mandapas)
UMAMAHESHWARA ALAYAM The UMAMAHESHWARA ALAYAM, which includes Garbha griha,Antralaya and Mukha mandapa was built during the Chalukya period and is encircled with a Pradakshina patha for circumambulation. The idol in this temple is a self manifested one, which is in the form of ‘ARDHANARISHWARA’ meaning - half SHIVA and half PARVATHI split down in the middle.
14th century vijayanagara empire (pushkarini and major renovations)
EXPLODED VIEW
Originally, the temple was built for LORD VISHNU,which is the reason why the four ornamented pillars in the Mukha mandapa depict the stories from VISHNU PURANA.

THESIS HOUSING COMMUNITY/PASSIVE SOLAR ARCHITECTURE
SITE ANALYSIS
“Passive solar architectural design maximizes the use of ‘natural’ sources of heating, cooling and ventilation to create comfortable conditions inside buildings.” By Stephen Finnegan. It harness(control and make use of) environmental conditions such as solar radiation, cool night air and air pressure differences to drive the internal environment. Today, buildings are designed with complete indifference to the climate and materials. Energy consumption in buildings is mainly connected to space cooling, supply of hot water, lighting, cooking and, use of appliances. But its important for us to understand that space cooling and lighting are directly influenced by the design of the building. Energy codes should be concerned with ‘sufficiency’ as well as ‘efficiency’. A more economic and ecological approach to building design is needed. These sustainable designs are not only economical in long term but also reduces its influence on our environment.
METHODOLOGY
The Proposed Site Is Located in hyderabed. HYDERABAD is located in central Telangana and has a tropical wet and dry climate bordering on a hot semi-arid climate. The annual mean temperature is 26.6 °C (79.9 °F); monthly mean temperatures are 21–33 °C (70–91 °F). Summers (March–June) are hot and humid, with average highs in the mid-to-high 30s Celsius; maximum temperatures often exceed 40 °C (104 °F) between April and June. The coolest temperatures occur in December and January, when the lowest temperature occasionally dips to 10 °C (50 °F). The highest temperature ever recorded was 45.5 °C (114 °F) on 2 June 1966, and the lowest was 6.1 °C (43 °F) on 8 January 1946.The city receives 2,731 hours of sunshine per year; maximum daily sunlight exposure occurs in February.

DBR mills has been left in the state of ruins for the past 2 decades. Since, its demolition the site context and surroundings have been completely changed. We believe the site can restored for an interim period which serve the city in multiple ways. which can serve the city in several ways. When we look at the lower tankbund area as a whole, there is a huge unemployment and illiteracy rate, in fact not just in the neighborhood but the Telangana state as a whole. There is also a growing skill gap in the industrial sector which we need to address as a nation. It is appropriate if we address the issues in the industrial sector at a place which interprets the industrial heritage of the Hyderabad as a whole.
