DESIGN CONCEPT

CONCEPT - EXPERIENCING IMMERSIVE OAKLAND VIBES This boutique hotel will provide guests with Oakland vibes. The concept is to create an immersive Oakland experience for the guest and showcase what Oakland beauty stands for. My design will capture the vibe of Oakland’s culture, nature, and neighborhood, its first Friday events which gathers street artists, local culinary artisans, performers, musicians, dancers, DJs, and poets from the Bay area. These activities will engage the guest and provide them with a therapeutic stress-free environment. Also, the pandemic has caused us to limit our scope to travel, this hotel will have different zones for different areas and the guests can enjoy all the Oakland vibes in this hotel. This hotel will also provide the local artists with space to showcase their work and growth opportunities by creating a positive impact on Oakland’s economy.

The main technique during space planning is to provide conference rooms with the flexibility to transform and include the work zone areas to cater to large groups. All the conference rooms have wooden separators which can be used according to requirement and also for post-pandemic events which will require larger space to maintain a minimum distance between people. These areas will create a soothing workplace for the guests as they will have wall arts from locals and will also help in uplifting Oakland's social and economic growth.

COMMUNITY CENTER- TREE OF HOPE

The New Hope community center is located in Portland,Oregon and intendes to welcome new refugees who were impacted by climate disaster in Odisha,India. The center aims at providing them with a space for social services, education, job training and community connection as they journey toward self-sufficiency and adjust to life in a new city. The concept behind Tree of Hope is to create a healing and positive enviornment by embarcing our roots.Inspired by the history of my refugees and their sacred symbol of enlightenment “TREE OF LIFE” my design concept will bring nature indoor which has proven to create a stress free and healing enviornment.

CONCEPT- TREE OF LIFE BRINGING HARMONY AND BALACE. The community center is intended to welcome new refugees and provide them with a healing enviornment.Inspired by Tree of life this design brings harmony and balance.Just as the branches of a tree strengthen and grow upwards to the sky, refugees too will grow stronger, striving for greater knowledge, wisdom and new experiences as they move through life. All trees begin life in the same way, yet as they grow, someweather by nature’s forces still they develop in their own unique and beautiful ways similarly this design will help refugees grow even after facing the harsh reality in life. INSPIRATION-CULTURE OF ODISHA Buddhism - in buddhism, the tree of life is known as the bhodi-tree and is believed to be the tree of enlightenment. it was under this tree that buddha reached enlightenment so it is seen as a very sacred symbol.

MEDICAL CENTER- HEALING FLOW

The Healing Flow Medical center is located at Little River County, Arkansas. Dr. Janice Rockefeller is working with the Health Resources and Service Administration (HRSA) to open this small family medical practice by returning to her origin. Her aim is to provide patients a homely environment. The Gross Lease Area is 1500sqft The concept behind Healing Flow is derived from the Arkansas River which is flowing and making its way to the heart of Arkansas and its residents. My aim is to incorporate the healing essence of this biophilic element into patience. The flow of the river will stimulate environmental physiology, energy, community spirit which is known for increasing the healing capacity of patients. This warm atmosphere will provide positive distraction providing therapeutic stress reduction in the environment.

36

Comforting colors like blue color in the waiting area as it’s an association with water will have a soothing and cooling effect and will also develop an earthy relaxing environment for improved healing of the patients.

This human habitat model will provide patients homely feel and greenery will provide positive distraction giving therapeutic stress reduction in the environment.

Forming a connection to shapes of nature like waves of river in my design

The organic flow of flooring would help easy flow of patients and a great wayfindind method.

CONCEPT - HEALING FLOW As the people of Arkansas love being around nature with a lot of farming sectors and rivers, I plan on applying the principles of applied and natural biophilia to have an abundance of natural sunlight and artificial light to mimic the circadian rhythm as it deeply impacts how we feel throughout the day. Forming a connecting to the various shapes of nature like waves of river and circles by showing them in different forms in my project like, softening wall edges. Also using the presence of colors of water as well as natural ventilation appeals to multiple senses of our body and will help the users.

DIXIT RESIDENCE- 2BHK

PROJECT AREA- 700SQFT LOCATION- MUMBAI The main challenge was to make this 2bhk residential unit look spacious.I designed this space using small tricks such as :

FLOOR PLAN

-Entrance has a huge designer mirror to give an illusion of enlarged space. -A smart dinning nook that will save space. -Breaking the balcony space and making it a part of the rooms to enlarge the space. Presenting the detailed floor plan with some wardrobe working drawings and finally showing the before and after image of the completed project. ELECTRICAL 42

DRESSING (WD) The client wanted a king size bed along with ample storage yet open space. The best designing hack that I implemented was to open up the balcony space and inlude it in master bedroom and for storage I utilized the space above bed to provide a recessed library.Other large storage that I added was above the side units and wardrobe. Shaded blue curtains and subtle stripped wallpaper made this room a bit more bright and lively.
