Lors d’une balade nocturne Porte de la Villette, nous avons découvert un petit local occupé par des squatteurs, installé dans un supermarché abandonné, coincé sous un tronçon aérien du périphérique. Ce fut le point de départ de notre projet de fin d’études. En 2017, le périphérique de Paris est bien loin de la réelle périphérie de la métropole. Cette autoroute urbaine de 36km est souvent perçue à travers les nuisances, sonores, visuelles et environnementales qu’elle génère. Il s’agit pourtant d’une composante essentielle au rayonnement national et international de la Capitale. Notre intention est de porter un regard nouveau sur cette infrastructure et ces enjeux à l’échelle du Grand Paris sous forme d’un guide de voyage architectural. Afin de mener à bien notre travail de revalorisation de ce patrimoine, nous avons mis en place une méthodologie rigoureuse et précise. Après des expéditions, in situ et virtuel, nous avons récolté notre matière première de travail. Le choix de 32 situations, et leur dessin, nous ont permis de mieux cerner les enjeux et le contexte des lieux mais aussi d’apporter une vision d’ensemble à cette diversité urbaine que constitue le transect du périphérique. A travers le spectre de l’enrichissement et de projets disruptifs, nous avons imaginé des scénarios sur 18 des sites sélectionnés pour leurs caractéristiques intrinsèques. Une réflexion plus approfondie de la porte de Bagnolet permet de synthétiser notre problématique globale à travers un projet décliné à plusieurs échelles.

During a night walk at Porte de la Villette, we discovered a small room occupied by squatters, installed in an abandoned supermarket, stuck under an aerial stretch of the ring road. This was the starting point of our final project. In 2017, the Paris ring road is far from the real periphery of the metropolis. This 36km highway is often perceived through the nuisances, sound, visual and environmental it generates. It is, however, an essential component of the national and international influence of the Capital. Our intention is to take a new look at this infrastructure and these stakes on a Greater Paris scale in the form of an architectural travel guide. In order to carry out our work of revalorisation of this heritage, we have put in place a rigorous and precise methodology. After expeditions, in situ and virtual, we harvested our raw material of work. The choice of 32 situations and their design allowed us to better understand the stakes and the context of the places, but also to provide an overview of the urban diversity that constitutes the transect of the ring road. Through the spectrum of enrichment and disruptive projects, we have devised scenarios on 18 of the sites selected for their intrinsic characteristics. A more in-depth reflection of the Porte de Bagnolet allows us to synthesize our global problems through a project that has been developed on several scales.

Pour Faire Paris, il est important de connaitre Paris. Connaitre Paris oui, mais pas seulement les monuments historiques, connaitre son tissu, ses évolutions, son histoire, sa diversité, ses projets etc ... Comment présenter Paris intramuros à tous avec un média dynamique, attractif, accessible? Le métro parisien est devenu après plus d’un siècle de fonctionnement, un symbole de la capitale, tant dans sa capacité à unifier les arrondissements de cette ville contrastée et à proposer un imaginaire collectif puissant par son esthétique. Le «Wagon Mouche» propose la rédaction du métro de la ligne 6 entre l’Etoile et Nation. Pendant les trente trois minutes de trajet, le métro parcours Paris de boulevard en boulevard, de quartier en quartier, de siècle en siècle ... Une épopée architecturale dans laquelle la rame réagencée accueille un agencement plus adapté à la diletance sous-urbaine : des vidéo-projecteurs animent les parois courbes des tunnels permettant de communiquer sur les lieux traversés, le plafond de la rame est sporadiquement ajouré pour l’effort sans effort l’ensemble de la Grande Dame entre Passy et Bir Hakeim. Des miroirs tapissent les parois de la rame pour la ville et se reflète à l’infini. Le «Wagon Mouche» s’adressant à la fois aux Parisiens en soif d’urbanité, aux touristes cherchant à l’ouverture d’un transect de 13 kilomètres dans la capitale. Ou simplement aux curieux amateurs d’une alternative à leur trajet quotidien. L’intérêt de la ligne 6 réside dans ses 45% de parcours aériens, équipés de treize stations sur vingt huit à l’air libre.

For FAIRE Paris, it is important to know Paris. Knowing Paris yes, but not only historical monuments, knowing its fabric, its evolutions, its history, its diversity, its projects etc ... How to present Paris intramuros to all with a dynamic, attractive and accessible media? The Parisian metro became after more than a century of operation, a symbol of the capital, both in its ability to unify the districts of this contrasted city and to propose a collective imagination powerful by its aesthetics. The «Wagon Mouche» proposes the writing of the metro line 6 between Etoile and Nation. During the thirty-three-minute journey, the metro route Paris from boulevard to boulevard, from district to district, from century to century ... An architectural epic in which the reworked train accommodates a more suited arrangement for sub-urban dilettanism: video projectors enliven the curved walls of the tunnels allowing communication on the places crossed, the ceiling of the train is sporadically openwork for the effortless effort the whole Lady between Passy and Bir Hakeim. Mirrors line the walls of the oar for the city and are reflected in infinity. The «Wagon Mouche» addressed to both Parisians in search of urbanity, to tourists seeking to open a transect of 13 kilometers in the capital. Or simply the curious lovers of an alternative to their daily journey. The interest of line 6 lies in its 45% of air routes, equipped with thirteen stations out of twenty eight in the open air.

Le XXIe siècle sera une nouvelle ère pour la relation entre l’humanité et la planète Terre. La population humaine explose, continue d’urbaniser, de faire des mégalopoles continues sur les vallées, le plateau, les côtes entières. Pour nous, le principal défi pour la vitalité de cette nouvelle humanité est la gestion des flux invisibles, mais inhérente à l’hygiène de l’ensemble. Qualité de l’air. Qualité des télécommunications. Le nuage au sens physique. Le Cloud au sens numérique.

The twenty-first century will be a new era for the relationship between mankind and planet Earth. The human population explodes, keeps on urbanizing, to form continuous megalopolises on valleys, plateau, whole coasts. For us the major challenge for the vitality of this new humanity is the management of the invisible flows, but inherent to the hygiene of the whole. Air quality. Quality of telecommunica- tions. The Cloud in the physical sense. The Cloud in the digital sense.

La tour s’inspire d’une baie, dans le virage d’une rivière, dans un lac ... au cœur de la ville. Un réseau de tuyaux se greffe dans les tissus d’infrastructure, collecte l’air pollué le long des autoroutes et dans les zones industrielles. Ce réseau se joint à la Rainbow Tower, dont la base est constituée d’une station de traitement destinée à humidifier l’air à un état brumeux. Cette substance semi-liquide polluée investit ensuite la fibre textile dans la structure par capillarité. Le tissu composite permet donc de filtrer l’air et de le purifier en séparant les éléments. La pollution filtrée s’accroche au tissu. L’air purifié est expulsé, fondu avec de l’eau vaporisée. Les brumes se répandirent à travers la fourrure légère, sensibles aux mouvements des vents et des brises.

The tower takes root in a bay, in the bend of a river, in a lake ... in the heart of the city. A network of pipes mesh in the infrastructure tissue, collects the polluted air along the expressways and in the industrial zones. This network joins at the Rainbow Tower, whose base is made of a treatment plant intended to humidify the air to a misty state. This polluted semi-liquid substance then invests the fiber textile up the structure by capillarity. The composite fabric therefore makes it possible to filter the air and purify it by separating the elements. The filtered pollution clings to the fabric. The purified air is expelled, melt with vaporized water. Mists spread through the light fur, sensitive to the movements of winds and breezes.

Dans la nature, le mouvement constant du vent dans les montagnes et dans la forêt, les mouvements d’eau qui tombent dans une chute d’eau, le mouvement des rivières et des branches dans les arbres crée naturellement des ions négatifs purifiant et rafraîchissant l’air. Le sens bien connu du bien-être dans les montagnes, dans une forêt, près d’une rivière ou d’un torrent, est directement lié à la forte concentration d’ions négatifs dans ces endroits. En remplissant la structure de la construction, les fans répandent cette douce sensation d’air pur dans les mégalopoles. Un parfum essentiel pour la ville d’avoir des citadins heureux. Au-delà du symbole de la mégalopole en perpétuelle croissance, Tokyo identifie déjà aujourd’hui les problèmes systémiques qui rencontreront les villes du monde de demain: l’air malsain, les réseaux saturés... La Tour Arc-en-ciel est implantée dans un noeud, dans une des roues des mécanismes de Tokyo. Il conclut la composition monumentale du Rainbow Bridge, un point fixe dans les mouvements visibles de la ville travaillant à la qualité des flux insaisissables.

In nature, the constant movement of wind in the mountains and in the forest, the movements of water dropping down a water- fall, the movement of rivers and branches in the trees naturally create negative ions purifying and refreshing the air. The well-known sense of well-being in the mountains, in a forest, near a river or a torrent, is directly linked to the large concentration of negative ions in these places. Populating the structure of the construction, fans spread this sweet sensation of pure air in the megalopolis. An essential fragrance for the city to have happy city dwellers. Beyond the symbol of the megalopolis in perpetual growth, Tokyo already identifies today the systemic problems that will meet the cities of the world of tomorrow: unhealthy air, saturated networks... The Rainbow Tower is implanted in a node, in one of the wheels of the mechanisms of Tokyo. It conclude the monumental composition of the Rainbow Bridge, as a fixed point in the visible movements of the city working at the quality of elusive flows.

Ce projet de semestre est une réflexion sur les Jeux olympiques. Son objectif est de prévenir le plan urbain budgétaire et une meilleure intégration des jeux dans la ville afin de redéfinir l’esprit perdu des jeux. De tels événements peuvent profiter aux gens en suivant la vision d’une ville. Le design est considéré comme une occasion de résoudre un problème social qui exige un effort politique fort, comme le bord nord-ouest de Paris entre le 19ème arrondissement et la Seine Saint Denis

This semestre project is a reflection on the Olympic Games. Its goal is to prevent over budget urban plan and a better intagration of the games within the city to redefine the lost spirit of the games. Such events can can profite to the people by following the vision of a city. Ungers introduit un autre type de lisibilité formelle comme une qualité par laquelle Grossform remplace la somme de ses parties: «Ce n’est que lorsqu’une nouvelle qualité survient au-delà de la somme des parties individuelles et qu’un stade de développement supérieur est atteint, implique Grossform. «Nous ne percevons pas nécessairement les choses comme un signe. [...] Leur effet n’est pas limité à leur signification, ni au fait que nous le comprenons. Il y a un effet qui découle de ce qu’il y a, de la forme, et non d’une signification associée à la forme par une convention. Il y a une expérience immédiate des choses. « Un bâtiment représentant une forme forte est lui-même suffisant pour créer une émotion dans le spectateur. Ce dernier est engagé dans une sensation qu’il cherche à expliquer. Il est donc amené à se questionner sur cette forme et à pousser davantage sa réflexion sur le projet. Pour nous, une forme forte commence par une idée simple, qui provoque une sensation détachée de toute signification. L’objectif du sutdio est de concevoir une structure théorique qui peut révéler son potentiel en organisant des scénarios d’occupation de programmes culturels, sportifs et bureautiques.

Ungers introduces a different kind of formal legibility as a quality through which Grossform supersedes the sum of its parts: “Only when a new quality arises beyond the sum of individual parts and a higher stage of development is reached, Grossform emerges.” «We do not necessarily perceive things as a sign. [...] Their effect is not limited to their meaning, or to the fact that we understand it. There is an effect which flows from what is there, from form, and not from a signification associated with form by a convention. There is an immediate experience of things. « A building representing a strong form is itself sufficient to create an emotion in the viewer. The latter is engaged in a sensation which he seeks to explain. He is therefore led to question himself on this form and to push his reflection on the project further. For us, a strong form starts from a simple idea, which causes a sensation detached from all meaning. The aim of the sutdio is to design a theoric structure that can reveal its potential by hosting cultural, sportiv and office program occupency scenarios.

BON BAISER DE CHEVIRÉ Colaborative warehouse and bycicle pathway under the Cheviré bridge Raphaël Saillard 5th Semestre Project Roche Maurice, Nantes, France, 2015

Le site est surplombé par le Pont de Cheviré, ce géant de béton et d’acier. En-dessous de cet hyper-passage automobile, le territoire est décomposé par les flux. Comment ressouder ce site, puis le désenclaver, pour cet endroit devienne une porte symbolique de la ville? En tant que piéton, traverser le site du nord au sud en ligne droite est une affaire impossible. Des friches, des routes automobiles, une voie ferrée et des zones interdites au public saccadent le territoire en long et en large, de sorte qu’humbles marcheurs que nous sommes, devons contourner, détourner, rebrousser chemin si l’on ne veut pas escalader les barbelés et marche des la merde. Pourant, le site offre une potentialité de passage hors du commun: un pont colossal de 1.5km de long )à 50m au dessus de nos têtes. Sans surprise, ce franchissement est réservé aux automobiles. Pourquoi ne pas le rendre accessible aux piétons et vélos?

The site is overhanged by the Cheviré bridge, this giant made from steel and concrete. Underneath this super car highway, the ground is divided by the flux. How to weld this site, even open it up, so it can become a symbolic city door for the city? As pedestrian, crossing the site from north to site in a straight line is an impossible task. Wastelands, roads, railtracks, and closed property, block this territory from all side. So that humble walkers that we are, have to get around, turn away, turn around, if we dont want to climb the barbed wire fences or walk in the sh*t. However, the site offers an extrodinary passage oportunity. A colossal bridge of 1.5 kilometers, 50 meters above our heads. With little surprise, this crossing is esclusively for automobile. Why cannot make it accessible to bycicle and pedestrian?

MECCA MINA MOUTON Temporary Housing, sheep farm and slaughterhouse for the Hajj Raphaël Saillard 3rd Semestre Project Mina Valley, Mecca, Soudi Arabia, 2014

La vallée de Mina est un site spirituel de la religion musulman située à La Mecque au cœur de l’Arabie saoudite et aride. L’endroit est inscrit comme étape clé du pèlerinage entre Arafat et la lapidation des démons. Les pèlerins reproduisent le geste original d’Abraham en ménageant temporairement des tentes pendant quelques jours entre les deux étapes adjacentes du pèlerinage. Aujourd’hui, Mina est une marée de 100 000 tentes sur 9 km2 en acier, toile et béton, un esclave du paysage naturel pour servir la gestion logistique de l’un des plus grands rassemblements humains jamais orchestrés. Un rassemblement destiné à se développer au cours des années avec la croissance croissante du transport aérien, l’Arabie Saoudite a officiellement accueilli plus de 3 millions de pèlerins en 2012. Mais cet habitat temporaire n’est pas durable, les tentes ne sont occupées que 3 jours par an, ce qui fait de la vallée de Mina un site fantôme pour les 362 jours restants. En outre, chaque année, les régions appauvries de l’Afrique de l’Ouest ont importé 1 million de moutons à abattre pour le rituel de l’Eid. Une réponse à court terme, symbole de la gestion saoudienne des événements. Le projet consiste à élever ces moutons tout au long de l’année sur le site tout en accueillant les pèlerins pour une courte période. Comment cohabiter les contradictions d’un site avec la spiritualité d’un peuple?

The Mina valley is a spiritual site of the Muslim religion located in Mecca at the heart of the arid Saudi Arabia. The place is inscribed as a key stage of the pilgrimage between Arafat and the stoning of the devils. The pilgrims reproduce the original gesture of Abraham by temporarily dwelling tents for a few days between the two adjacent stages of the pilgrimage. Today, Mina is a tide of 100,000 tents on 9km2 made of steel, canvas and concrete, a slaving of the natural landscape to serve the logistical management of one of the largest human gatherings ever orchestrated. A gathering destined to develop over the years with the growing growth of air transport, Saudi Arabia officially welcomed more than 3 million pilgrims in 2012. But this temporary habitat is not sustainable, the tents are occupied only 3 days a year, which makes the Mina Valley a ghost site for the remaining 362 days. FORME SAUVAGE Fragrance Raphaël Saillard & S’il Te Plaît Festival des Architectures Vives 2017 : Émotion Montpelier Conservatory, Montpelier, Occitanie, France 2017

L’émotion est une expérience psychophysiologique complexe de l’état d’esprit d’un individu lorsqu’il réagit aux influences biochimiques et environnementales. Com- ment une architecture vive interagit avec le cortex cérébral du curieux? Le projet agit comme un stimulus, activant les récepteurs sensoriels de chacun. L’émotion se fait donc par l’enivrement soudain des sens. De la rue, la forme indécise appelle l’indis- cret, la brume perle et rafraichit le visiteur, le parfum embaume la cour. Une forme liquide se fige. Une succession de plaques en plastique transparent rigide est assouplie par une thermo(dé)formaion. La forme indicible, sans contour. Une forme finie à l’interprétation infinie. L’idée n’est pas de produire une architecture, mais bien de générer un espace sai- sissant. Un dispositif discret vaporise le parfum pour que cette après-midi à Montpellier laisse un souvenir de plus. Pour une telle intervention, l’intimité proposée par la cour du conservatoire de musique nous semblait propice à l’évocation de la rêverie.

Emotion is a complex psychophysiological experience of an individual’s state of mind when responding to biochemical and environmental influences. How does a vivid architecture interact with the cerebral cortex of the curious? The project acts as a stimulus, activating the sensory receptors of each one. The emotion is thus made by the sudden delights of the senses. From the street, the undecided form calls the nosy, the mist refreshes the visitor, fragrance hangs in the courtyard. A liquid form freezes. A succession of plates made of rigid transparent plastic is softened by a thermal distortion. The form unspeakable, without contour. A net shape with infinite interpretation. The idea is not to produce an architecture but to generate a striking space. A discreet device vaporizes the perfume. This afternoon in Montpellier leaves one more memory. For such an intervention the intimacy proposed by the court of the music conservatory seemed to us optimal to the evocation of the reverie.

La philosophie «Le Petit Comité» est très simple: quelques bonnes bières locales, bons vins, cocktails frais, copains partout, prix raisonnables, tous les jours de 17 à 2 heures du matin et même toute la journée le week-end. Le Petit Comité, ce sera notre nouvelle maison, mais une maison sans copains, ce n’est pas vraiment une maison. Nous espérons que vous allez nous aider à vivre, à grandir et à en faire un endroit plus beau et plus chaleureux. »

Le Petit Comité, it’s going to be our new home but a house without buddies, it’s not really a house. Le Petit Comité est destiné à être un petit espace afin que l’interaction entre les personnes augmente. Lorsque le client entre dans la barre, il voit une anamorphose inspirée par le mouvement constructiviste. La forme de la forme colorée se dissout dans la morphologie de la barre. Après la porte, le client est guidé pour tourner la tête vers la barre. Le petit volume de la barre est mis en évidence par la courbe de l’étagère. C’est un design utilisant Vray, Grasshopper, Vcurve et fabriqué par le groupe S’il Te Plaît.

Le Petit Comité is meant to be a small space so that people interaction increases. When the costumer enter the bar, he sees an anamorphosis inspired by the constructivist mouvement. The shape of the colored form gets disolved into the morphologie of the bar. After the door, the client has is guided to turn his head toward the bar. The small volume of the bar is emphasis by the curve of the bar shelve. It is design using Vray, Grasshopper, Vcurve, and manufactured by S’il Te Plaît group.

Points flottants réinterrogent la substance des caractéristiques de l’espace, des formes complexes, générées par des conditions statiques et des nécessités. Le travail se déroule par une discrétisation dans les points d’une surface gauche indisposable. Comme un mouvement arrêté dans un espace; Dans un triptyque, travaillant à recréer un rythme, une rationalité dans son environnement.

Floating Points re-interrogates the substance of the characteristics of space, of complex forms, generated by static conditions and necessities. The work proceeds by a discretization in points of an indisposable left surface. Like a movement stopped in a space; In a triptych, working to recreate a rhythm, a rationality in its environment.

Notre travail se concentre sur la matérialisation de la relation intangible que nous avons avec l’argent. C’est un point saillant d’une expérience quotidienne, une observation omniprésente; Nous ne voyons pas, nous montrons, nous ne jugeons que par le prisme de l’argent. L’argent comptant est ce que vous portez. Cette spéculation commence à partir de la naissance, se prolonge pendant la vie, et reste seulement imprimée après notre mort. Le projet est une bulle, définie par des paramètres comme son poids, Sa taille, son opacité, sa flexibilité, sa couleur. Tous ces paramètres ne sont que des spécificités. (Sup) Usé par l’homme, il l’écrase par sa présence, alors que seul, ce n’est qu’une masse sans forme.

Our work focuses on the materialization of the intangible relationship we have with money. It is a highlight of a daily experience, an omnipresent observation; We do not see, we display, we judge only through the prism of money. Cash is what you wear. This speculation begins from birth, is prolonged during life, and only remains imprinted after our death. The project is a bubble, defined by parameters like its weight, Its size, its opacity, its flexibility, its color. All these parameters are merely spe- culations.
