Saint Francis University’s overall employment/ graduate school rate for the Class of 2015 remains competitive at 99% employed or attending graduate school within 9 months of graduation (95% employed or attending graduate school within 6 months). This data is related to undergraduate students who received degrees in the Schools of Arts & Letters, Business, Health Sciences, and Sciences and graduate students who received degrees in the Schools of Arts & Letters, Business, and Health Sciences. Our graduates secured employment or entered graduate or professional school in the following areas: Health Science, Business, Information Technology, Engineering, Communications, Social Services, Athletics, Education, Science and Research, and other high-demand occupational fields.

The percentage of graduates employed increased by 1% from last year for a total of 77%, the highest percentage employed over the past five years. 22% of the graduates who received bachelor’s degrees are attending graduate or professional school which is consistent with the average over the last five years. 3% of the graduates are also employed and attending graduate or professional school. Of the Class of 2015 graduates who received a bachelor’s degree and continued on to graduate or professional school, 76% are studying at Saint Francis University.

Paige Mundy ’15, Biology
Paige is pursuing her Ph.D. as part of the Molecular, Cellular, and Integrative Physiology program at the University of California, Davis. Her research is focused on fish physiology, particularly the interactive molecular effects of emerging contaminants and salinity stress in euryhaline fish. After graduate school, she is interested in a career in policy so she can have a positive impact on watershed regulation. She credits her personalized undergraduate experience at SFU with preparing her for graduate education. “I have found my cross-disciplinary background in marine and molecular biology allows me a unique perspective on physiology, which helps me excel in my core courses as well as implementing creative approaches to research,” she shared.

Methodology
The 2015 First Destination Survey was distributed by the Career Services Office to 761 undergraduate and graduate students who graduated in December 2014 and May or Summer of 2015. Each graduate received an email with a link to the survey and a paper copy of the survey by regular mail in November of 2015. Two months later, in January 2016, each non-respondent was contacted again by email and regular mail. Faculty, staff, advisors and academic departments were then contacted to obtain any available post-graduation information for non-respondents. In addition to the mailings and faculty contact, follow-up phone calls and emails were made to nonrespondents. Social media tools (LinkedIn, Facebook, and Google) were also used to retrieve graduate information. Career Snapshots: Class of 2015 Timothy Keith School of Business
Timothy graduated with his Bachelors of Science degree in Economics with a minor in Mathematics. He was accepted into the Ph.D. program in Economics at Iowa State University. He received full tuition remission and an annual stipend to cover his living expenses while attending the University and obtaining his Ph.D.
Teodorico (Teo) Heckman School of Health Sciences
Dr. Teodorico Heckman, PT, DPT graduated with his Bachelors of Science in Health Science in 2013, before completing the doctorate program in Physical Therapy in May 2015. During his graduate studies he completed clinical rotations at Western PA Sports Medicine & Rehabilitation in Somerset, Pa., Golden Living Nursing Center in Richland, Pa., Windber Medical Center Outpatient Clinic in Windber, Pa. and Conemaugh Health System Main Campus in Johnstown, Pa. Prior to graduation, he was offered a full-time position at CrossRoads Physical Therapy in Hollidaysburg, Pa. where he has worked as a physical therapist for the past year.
Cecilia MacDonald â&#x20AC;&#x201C; School of Arts & Letters
Cecelia graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English. After serving as the Universityâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s Ann Eppard Scholar interning on Capitol Hill she decided to combine her love of language with law. Upon graduation, she was awarded a scholarship to attend the University of Iowa College of Law. She is leaning toward a specialty in business law and would also love to teach English.
Meghan Studds School of Sciences
Meghan received her Bachelors of Science degree in biology and pre-veterinary studies while minoring in English. She was accepted into Veterinary School at Ohio State University, Purdue University, Virginia-Maryland Regional College, and the University of Tennessee. She is currently a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DMV) candidate in the class of 2019 at Ohio State University, where she is also an anatomy laboratory assistant for the University.
