Tales of the Loretto Loyal
Commencement Day at Saint Francis has a rhythm. Rows of folding chairs appear on Saturday, and stand empty until soon-to-be graduates flow in to fill them on Sunday. For many years, this staging dance took place on the Campus Mall if God blessed Loretto with sunshine, or in Doyle Hall when he preferred rain or snow in May. Commencement Weekend 1972 continued the tradition with everything set up on the mall by Saturday night, ready for the big day.
