GOOD EVENING AND A WARM WELCOME TO OUR VISITORS COLESHILL TOWN WHO VISIT US AT THEPREMIERPLUSSTADIUMFORTHEFIRSTTIME

Our two sides met for the first time at Coleshill in September last year – not once but twice midweek in eight days! It would have been twice in six days but for the rearrangement enforced by the untimely death of the Queen. The result of these meetings was two victories for this evenings’ visitors but with contrasting matches. The first was a scheduled league fixture and was our first away from home midweek in our new league apart from our more local trip to Yaxley. We did not perform well and were well beaten 4-0. However, our second midweek trip to the Midlands in the FA Trophy saw a much better performance and our lads twice came from behind before losing to a goal three minutes from time. However, two subsequent trips to the Birmingham area have seen us lose 6-0 at Sutton Coldfield and 4-0 at Chasetown. Back to today and our first home game since our second half comeback against ShepshedDynamothatsawussnatchawell-deservedpointinathrilling3-3draw. Backtothiseveningandourvisitorswillhopetobuildonaverysuccessfulstartto2023which featured three wins and a draw in five outings, Their one reversal was at Gresley where they lost 1-0 but league victories over Sutton Coldfield and Sporting Khalsa and a good draw away at Corby Town plus a Birmingham Cup victory over Coventry City will have boosted their confidence. Before Saturday and their visit from Loughborough Dynamo they were sixth in theleaguetablejustoutsidetheplayoffplaces, sotheyareateaminform. Our recent defeat at Chasetown ended a run of four matches undefeated since Boxing Day so we look for a return to that form this evening. On Saturday our lads are here again when Sutton Coldfield are our visitors followed by three away matches at Daventry Town, Spalding United and DerehamTown.
