Graduation & Matriculation Information
GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
The minimum requirement for graduation is 24 credits, which must include the following:

4 English
4 Theology
3 Math
3 Science (1 credit Life Science, 1 credit Physical Science, 1 credit Science elective)
3 Social Studies (1 credit World History, 1 credit U.S. History, 0.5 credit Civics, 0.5 credit Social Studies elective)
2 Modern World Languages (2 credits in Fine Arts may be substituted when approved by the Principal)
2 Physical Education/Health
0.5 Computer Technology
0.5 Fine Arts
2 Electives
Additionally, Saint Viator has a mandated service hour requirement. Freshmen are required to complete 10 hours, sophomores must complete 15 hours, and juniors and seniors must complete 20 hours.
TRANSCRIPTS
The yearly GPA listed on the righthand side of our transcript is just the weighted/unweighted GPA for that singular year. Cumulative weighted and unweighted GPA’s can be found on the bottom left below senior year courses on each document. In addition, on our transcript we also list any waivers a student received as well as honors designations such as Querbes and or STEM Scholars. Due to the college prep nature of our curriculium, we strongly recommend all of our students on the Common App Forms. Saint Viator does not rank its students. However, elite academic distinctions that might be associated with an application that you are evaluating could include:
• Querbes Scholar: The Class of 2022 is on track to graduate 24 Querbes Scholars.
• STEM Scholar: The Class of 2022 is on track to graduate 53 STEM Scholars.
• Principal’s Honors: A semester weighted average of 4.33+.
• High Honors: A semester weighted average of 3.67+.
• Honors: A semester weighted average of 3.00+.
• The Class of 2022 will graduate 17 students who hold both the STEM and Querbes Distinction.
2021 COLLEGIATE PURSUITS
• 90% committed to attending a 4-year school
• 2% committed to attending a 2-year school
• 44% will be attending private universities (26% Catholic)
• 71% will be attending schools across 27 states outside of Illinois (26% at Big Ten schools)
