Plasma Plus+ (PP) is an application oriented analytical laboratory equipped with top of the line analytical instrumentation. It is the first science laboratory of its kind in the private sector in Bangladesh and is a non-profit laboratory aimed to promote scientific research and human resource development in Science and Technology. Plasma Plus+ has all the capabilities to meet the above. Knowledge base The scientific background of the laboratory personnel at Plasma Plus+ covers the disciplines of Physics, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmacy, Material Science, Electronics and Engineering. They are professional research and application scientists and engineers. In laboratory measurements, the guidelines of ISO 17025 protocols for QA and QC are followed. Instrument Base With continued efforts for over two decades, Plasma Plus+ in its present location at Uttara, has established a wide range of analytical measurement facilities for qualitative and quantitative information on chemical, biochemical, geological, food and environmental specimens of different origin. The instrumental facilities of Plasma Plus+ include: For Inorganics -Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer with Graphite Furnace and D2 arc lamp background corrector -Absorption Spectrophotometer, flame type with continuous HG and CVM analysis For Organics -High Performance Liquid Chromatograph (HPLC) -Gas Chromatograph (GC) equipped with PID, FID and ECD Detectors -FT-IR Spectrophotometer (FT-IR) -Gas Chromatograph-Mass Spectrometer (GC-MS) -Total Organic Carbon Analyzer (TOC) For Molecular Absorption Spectroscopic Measurements -UV-Visible Spectrophotometers, both recording and manual operating systems.

For Sample Preparation -Microwave Digestion Apparatus for Extraction & Digestion -Rotary Evaporator -Oven -Incubator -Others Training at Plasma Plus+ Plasma Plus+ organizes training programs on major analytical modalities in Spectroscopy and Chromatography. Objectives of the Courses: General -Provide a basic understanding of an analytical modality commonly used for quantitative and qualitative measurements. -Overview the capabilities of the analytical measurement system -Demonstrate how and what information can be extracted from the analytical system -How to maintain the functional behavior and the effectiveness of the system -Troubleshooting -Interpretation of the results -Quantification and quality assurance protocols -Operating procedures of the instrumental analysis Areas of Training Subjectwise, different modules of training courses have been developed on Gas Chromatography, High Performance Chromatography, Gas Chromatograph-Mass Spectroscopy, Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy, Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy, UV-VIS Spectroscopy, TOC Analysis, etc.

Research Collaboration Plasma Plus+ with its present scientific and technical background has the capability to do research in the pharmaceutical, agricultural, environmental, food and material science sectors. It has also the capacity to design and implement research proposals for advanced academic learning leading to MS and MPhil degrees, in collaboration with the public and private Universities and research organizations.
