Introduction Have you heard about rocket ships? They are really big with thrusters that can send people into space. Did you know that you could be an astronaut one day and ride the giant rockets that go into space? Rockets are intriguing things that you will learn all about them today! A picture of the biggest rocket built, the Saturn V.
What is the largest rocket built?
The Saturn V’s 13 launches combined into 1 photograph.
As of 2018, the Saturn V is the tallest and heaviest rocket ever flown officially. The gigantic Saturn V is towering all other rockets at 111 meters tall and 6.54 million pounds. Saturn V is pronounced Saturn 5. The V is the Roman Numeral for 5. The Saturn V took a total of 13 launches, none of them were complete but 1 was a partial failure. The project in cost was around 40 billion dollars! Now the Saturn V is retired but itĹ› career was impressive. The Saturn V successfully visited Rhea, the 5th moon of Saturn (explains the name). I got this information from Wikipedia.
What was the first rocket launched into space?
All of this information is from http://coolcosmos.ipac.caltech.edu. A German rocket called the V2 missile was the first rocket to launch all the way into space. In 1942 Germany launched this missile into space. The first rocket to launch something into space was the Sputnik. Sputnik was a satellite.
The V2 missile, the first rocket to launch all the way into space.
How long does it take to make a rocket ship?
The Falcon Heavy by SpaceX. This rocket could take only 18 months to build.
According to howthingsfly.si.edu it depends what type of rocket you are talking about. If your rocket is going to carry people it will take a little longer. For example, the shuttle would take about 5 years to make. On the other hand, the Falcon Heavy by SpaceX (Elon MuskĹ› company) could take only 18 months.
The Saturn V, the biggest rocket ever built. This rocket could take up to 5 years to build.
Who invented rocket ships? According to Wikipedia, Robert H. Goddard was an American physicist, engineer, professor, and amazing scientist. Robert H. Goddard was the best of the best when it came to inventing rocket ships. He always used to say “It is difficult to say what is impossible, for the dream of yesterday is the hope of today and the reality of tomorrow. Goddard was truly an outstanding scientist. Goddard was born on October 5th, 1882 and died on August 10, 1945. Goddard was the builder/inventor of multiple milestones for further astronomical discoveries.
Robert H. Goddard, one of the most radical scientists explains his thinking and proves that air travel is possible.
How much do astronauts get paid? How much do astronauts get paid? According Chron.com “You must first qualify to become an astronaut candidate. After being selected, you must complete a two-year training and evaluation period to be eligible, and even then you might not ever take flight. This doesn’t mean it’s not possible, and the earnings often reflect the patience and commitment it takes to see it through.”-Dana Severson, Chron.com You would get paid a lot because as you previously know it takes A LOT of work to become an astronaut. At the least, you would get paid 66,000 USD per year. 144,566 USD per year is what you would get paid at the most. Military astronauts are astronauts that have served in the military previously and they are trying to get in the position of an astronaut using their prior knowledge of the military. Even though many people want to be an astronaut only 0.7 of the people that try to get in actually make it in.
What would happen if an astronaut was exposed in space? What would happen if an astronaut was exposed in space? This evidence is from Youtube.. Obviously, you would not explode like they do in movies, nor would you freeze up, you would feel all of the air in your space suit rush out and you would decompress and get the chills. Frankly, it would not be pretty. The saliva in your mouth will come out. All of the air in your lungs will go out and you will black out in a few seconds, they accidentally tested it once with a Russian astronaut.
Conclusion Was that interesting or what? Rockets are so amazing I wish I could ride one. Don’t you? Rockets give you a chance to see the Earth from a completely different angle. Now go out there and become an astronaut!
