The process aimed to manage and reduce the designers’ ‘fear of the empty page’ by making one familiar with various design methods and approaches. Phase 2 explored primarily as a site based and autobiographical approach. The site is a part of the CEPT campus Ahmedabad. One experiences various movement patterns and different volumes created by the scale of the lanes, vegetation, and the surrounding buildings, while traversing from the lane to the Garba Ground.

The main idea underpinning the design is to enhance the movement in the lane, which can be achieved by creating different volumes and enhancing existing ones.

Got up and saw the texture on the floor, And shadows on the wall that I missed before. The longer I looked, I observed footprints, Of the crowd that comes, carving out a hint. Looked at the corner dump and turned away, To see the cigarettes on the ground where they always stay. Leaf litterCigarettes
Looked at the birds and students and squirrels dancing, After some time got tired standing.
Why not a lawn? Or a stadium?seating I am tanned! HUSHHBetter SIGH!!
Turned right to experience stillness and echo together, Of the trees and people in this cooler weather. Went on the other side and turned around, Imagined a seating or a lawn stitched to the ground.
Dashed through the lane while looking around, Sneezed along because of the dust on the ground.
Did tap dance on the rhythm of leaf litter, Throughout the stage filled with glitter.
I turned and entered a shaded space, A home to puppies, and an abandoned place. My head burned when I walked ahead, Looked around and the space looked dead.

The Sabarmati river edge has a unique sound experience. In the coming years, with the increase in urban sprawl, the noise levels of anthrophonic sounds may increase which will be a threat to the faunal diversity, especially birds of the Sabarmati river. Therefore, the project seeks to enhance the sound experience by orchestrating the existing sounds with a series of new melodies and reshaping the relationship between ecology and the urban system.

A natural cave in the surrounding rocky hills, referred to as Bada dol where a natural spring is present is a point of high reverence and cultural importance to the community and serves as the only source of perennial water. The water is getting contaminated due to littering which is making this sacred landscape slowly and gradually vulnerable. The project thus aims to restore and conserve the sacred landscape of Bada dol by creating and strengthening a buffer that will shield from external pressures. commons and ceremonial grounds
CHOTA DOL In a valley tucked between the arching mountains of the Vindhyan offshoots and hidden away from the outside world are homes of the most famous indigenous people of our country – the Bhils and Bhilalas.

The study started by understanding the larger system, which is the Doon valley with its unique geomorphic components. The idea is to acknowledge this larger system and understand the interdependence of its various components.
The grasslands of the forest are the most vulnerable of the entire ecosystem. The journey through the forest thus narrates the various conditions of the grasslands through narrow valleys and finally discovering the diversity which the Doons holds within. Foundation Studio tutors Jain Shah
