Liverpool: Our Spring Term 2019 Offer What's on in Liverpool Through our community-based groups, programmes, and opportunities that raise awareness; develop skills; share learning experiences; and build confidence, we support children, young people, and families living with neurodevelopmental conditions, learning difficulties and associated mental health needs.

Neurodevelopmental Conditions Family Learning Programme Structured programmes that give parents, carers, and supporters the skills, knowledge and confidence to better recognise, understand and meet the needs of their families living with neurodevelopmental conditions, learning difficulties and associated mental health needs.

Coming up: Gateacre L25 Three full day sessions: Monday 14th, 21st & 28th January, 9.30am – 3.00pm Childwall L16 Three full-day sessions: Thursday: 31st January, 7th & 14th February, 9.30am 3.00pm.

Sensory Processing Difficulties Awareness Raising Workshops Delivered in partnership with Liverpool Local Authority Sensory Integration Occupational Therapists, our awareness-raising training helps parents and carers to better understand how our bodies process sensory information, identifying strategies to support sensory processing difficulties in their children and young people.

Coming up: South Liverpool: Friday 11th January 9.30am -1.30pm North Liverpool: Friday 18th January 9.30am - 1.30pm and Friday 1st March 2019 9.30am – 1.30pm

Eating Difficulties Awareness Raising Training This training helps parents and carers better understand and manage eating difficulties associated with neurodevelopmental conditions. To book on this course you must have attended the sensory processing awareness raising course.

Community Network Groups If you have concerns about your child’s behaviour or progress at school, our community network groups offer support to help you learn, understand and meet the needs of your child and family. We deliver needs-led workshops whilst working in partnership with professionals from organisations and experts in their field to provide effective solution-focused support.

What's on in Liverpool

ADDvanced Solutions Community Network would be happy to come along to schools coffee mornings to deliver a session about ND conditions to parents/carers.

Communication Workshops For children between the ages of 6-11 living with a neurodevelopmental condition, to support the development of effective social, communication and turn-taking skills using LEGO®

Starting on Tuesday 15th January.

ND and Me This programme has been developed for children aged 6-8, 9-11 and 12-14 to help them to: • Better understand and manage themselves • Identify and make the right choices • Develop social skills to make friends & maintain friendships • Keep themselves safe. For children whose parents have completed the ND conditions Family Learning Programme.

Programmes start on: Monday 7th January - children aged 6-8, 4-5pm Monday 7th January - children aged 9-11, 5.30-6.30pm Thursday 10th January - children aged 12-14, 4.30-5.30pm

Young People Aged 12 - 14 and 15-19 Designed for those living with neurodevelopmental conditions to help them gain a better understanding of themselves, explore their own needs, learn new skills and build confidence as well as develop friendships. Groups meet up for learning and social activities, they’re led by young people who take an active part in the design, decision making and development of their group, encouraging activities participation and ownership. We cover subjects such as: • Social skills and interaction; • Planning and preparation for trips; • Staying safe;

Setting and achieving realistic goals; Creative expression and fun activities.

Places are limited and designed for those most isolated, who do not attend other youth provision.


Family Days Out

Free Professionals Awareness Raising Training

We will be going for a walk and ranger activities on the following dates: • Formby Woods - Monday, 18th February • Sankey Valley Country Park & Trail Wednesday 20th February • Stadt Moers Park - Friday, 22nd February • Walton Hall Park - Friday, 12th April

This commissioned course has been developed to provide an awareness and understanding of the day-to-day challenges of living with neurodevelopmental conditions (NDCs) and the surrounding issues for staff working to support children, young people and families, to enable them to:

Children’s cooking activity sessions 10th April am & pm in North Liverpool. Booking is essential.

• Understand the difference and similarities between ADHD, ASD/C, and other NDCs. • Recognise the typical behaviours of ADHD, ASD/C and other NDCs

Our Traded Offer

• Recognise the impact that unsupported and unmanaged characteristics of NDCs can have on an individual and their family.

We also offer bespoke training, coaching and mentoring programmes and consultancy work for professionals working with children, young people and families living with neurodevelopmental conditions.

• Understand the impact that sensory processing difficulties have on children and young people.

Income generated through our traded offer underpins ADDvanced Solutions Community Network’s support for families.
