We take great pride in providing a very personal service, which means that our clients will see the same director at every stage, from the first point of contact to the funeral itself, or afterwards, when people often take comfort in coming into Mayfields for a chat — Rowan and Lucy are always on hand.” “We also run coffee mornings the first Wednesday of each month,” explained Lucy, “When anyone from the community, regardless of whether they are bereaved or not, are very welcome to join us.” “At a time when many funeral homes are owned by large corporations, offering a standard, often impersonal service, we seek to be flexible and compassionate,” said Rowan. “This might mean making the funeral as affordable and dignified as possible. Or perhaps the deceased had a particular interest, or passion, and rather than use a hearse the family have requested we use a motorbike and sidecar, or on one occasion a speedboat. Ultimately, it’s all about caring for everyone concerned and making arrangements that give comfort and support,” said Paul.
