SALEM STATE OFFERS BOTH AN MED AND MAT IN PHYSICAL EDUCATION.

The MEd in leadership in physical education and movement studies is designed for physical educators that have an initial license and are seeking professional licensure in physical education.

The core focus of the program is leadership, followed by a focus area which provides in-depth study in either physical education, adapted physical education, or adventure education.

The MAT in physical education is designed for students with an undergraduate degree in exercise science or a related discipline who are seeking initial licensure to teach physical education in elementary or secondary school settings.

We work with you to establish a plan of study that fits into your busy schedule. Our courses are offered in the evening, all year long, and include several hybrid courses. You may enroll on a part-time or full-time basis. We offer the individual attention you need to support your professional growth.

All of our faculty hold doctorate degrees in the field and are fully committed to the discipline and teaching of physical education.
