RETURNING NON-DEGREE STUDENTS* Starts: Monday, November 5, 2018 (8:30 am) Navigator: navigator.salemstate.edu

FIRST-TIME SELF-SERVICE FOR NON-DEGREE STUDENTS New non-degree students may utilize the First-Time Self-Service at salemstate.edu/nondegree. This system allows students to create a student account and register online for the first time. After this initial registration, non-degree students will be able to utilize Navigator to register, access grades and update personal information. Please note that utilizing this system does not constitute admission to a degree program.

COURSE CANCELLATIONS Classes not meeting minimum enrollments may be cancelled. Classes will be cancelled approximately one week before the start of the semester. In the case of winter session institutes, it may be cancelled up to one week before the first class meeting. If your course has been cancelled, use express registration or visit the Student Navigation Center during normal business hours to add a new course, provided that the new course has space available.

Starts: Monday, November 5, 2018 (8:30 am) Online: salemstate.edu/nondegree * Please note that only returning students who have registered for a class in the last two years may register through Navigator. If you need your account reactivated, please contact the Student Navigation Center at 978.542.8000 or walk in to the service office on the second floor of the Central Campus classroom building. It may take up to 48 hours for you to register online if you request your account reactivation by telephone.

CHANGES IN REGISTRATION OR DROPPING COURSES When using online registration to drop a course, the course must be dropped one calendar day prior to the course’s first scheduled class meeting; otherwise, a “W” (withdrawal) grade will be assigned. Please note that there is no add/drop period for graduate courses.

MATION REGISTRATION AND FINANCIAL INFORMATION

WITHDRAWAL FROM COURSES Withdrawals can be completed online or in person at the registrar’s office and will result in a grade of “W” for the course. Please note that lack of attendance does not constitute a withdrawal. Students who feel they may be eligible for a refund should check the refund policy, available at salemstate. edu/navcenter. Withdrawal from an academic program does not automatically withdraw the student from registered courses. Withdrawal from all courses may impact financial aid eligibility. Graduate students must withdraw by the fourth class meeting or they will receive a grade of F. Withdrawal Dates: Full semester (term) courses: End of the twelfth week of classes.

POLICY SPRING GRADUATE AND CONTINUING STUDIES COURSES The following are the current refund policies currently for undergraduate and graduate students. All spring 2019 courses fall under this refund policy. If you have any specific questions regarding your refund, please contact the Student Navigation Center at 978.542.8000 or via email at navcenter@salemstate.edu. Refund Policy for spring sessions: Through End of Add/drop

100% refund

Add/Drop +1-7 calendar days

80% tuition only refund

Add/Drop +8-14 calendar days

60% tuition only refund

After Add/Drop +15 calendar days

No Refund

Quarter courses: End of the fifth week of classes. Six week session courses (SOPS/SGS): End of the third week of classes.

Refund Policy for special format and short sessions:

Special format, institutes and other accelerated courses: all withdrawals must be completed by the third class meeting

Add/Drop +1-6 calendar days

Add/Drop (1 business day after session start)

Add/Drop +7 calendar days

100% refund

50% tuition only refund No Refund

Online and hybrid courses follow the withdrawal dates that correspond with the session in which the class is scheduled.

TUITION AND FEE INFORMATION Winter and spring 2019 undergraduate three-credit courses begin at $1,176.45 for in-state students. Winter and spring 2019 graduate three-credit courses begin at $1,253.10 for in-state students.

NOTE: Refunds are based on dates of scheduled class meetings, not on attendance. Refunds will be processed through the Student Navigation Center and sent to students approximately six weeks after withdrawal notification by the student. Tuition and fees are refunded if the university cancels the course. We are not responsible for finance charges incurred on your credit card statement.

These rates apply to regularly scheduled spring 2019 courses. Courses offered in special accelerated formats, such as institutes, are charged separately and priced individually. Please review the specific class information in this brochure for the cost of individual institute classes.
