To be honest, it’s all subjective. We hope to take a little of the guesswork out of it, arm you with some lingo, as well as give you a taste of the Sally Townsend Makeup Artistry style. In this ebook are only a handful of the looks we have up our sleeve and we are constantly learning, improving techniques and conjuring up new and creative designs. So please don’t consider this as a catalogue for you to choose from, but rather, in the words of the great Cher Harowitz of Clueless fame, it’s a jumping off point to start negotiation. THE QUINTESSENTIAL BRIDE Our most requested look. Soft and blended with gentle eyeliner definition on the eyes, pretty pink lips and a pout to match. Highlighted in all the right places and lashes for days, this look is designed to be romantic and timeless, suitable for brides of all ages.
Variation
Warm it up with champagne and gold shimmer on the eyes, or stick with matte eye shadows to keep it dreamy and classic.
SEXY RETRO CHIC
There is a definite formula to achieve this timeless look. From movie stars to pin-up babes, and today’s classic chic lasses, the bold red lip teamed with a clean winged liner suits absolutely everyone.
Variation
Swap out red for a fuchsia pink or poppin’ purple, and you’ve got a statement look with an unexpected edge.
GENUINE DRAMA
A touch of gold snuck in on this soft smokey-eye look, and we amped-up the dramatics with burgundy lips and strong contouring to uplift the cheekbones. This is an elegant look that would be most suitable to wintertime, and particularly beautiful on women of colour.
THE BOMBSHELL
This smokey-eye look is best served blended and accompanied by a nude lip, like this pretty peach pout.
Variation
You can choose absolutely any colour under the sun from purple to green, or from browns to blacks and greys. This look can be shimmery or natural on the eyes, dewy or matte on the skin – the world is your oyster, girlfriend.
BARELY-THERE BABE
Taking natural to a whole new level, this look is all about keeping everything to a minimum, while still creating a long-lasting, beautifully defined look that will enhance your features.
Variation
Keep it minimal, but add luscious false lashes and a bright lip.
THE ENGLISH ROSE
Peaches and cream skin with an flush of colour on the cheeks is the feature of this innocent look. Minimal definition to the eyes and lips is also required and is particularly effective with beautiful full brows.
Variation
Wear with or without eyeliner and false lashes.
SMOKEY SOPHISTICATION
Dramatic is the aim of the game with a true black smokey eye and full coverage base. This look has the STMA flair with a feminine popping mauve-pink lip and a little soft brown blended through the eye crease and a cheeky little winged liner.
Variation
Tone it down with brown smoked-out eyes or a true nude lip.
YOU LITTLE FLIRT!
Fun and flirty - a little naughty and a little nice with a flick of eyeliner and undeniably kissable berry lips.
Variation
Go stronger on the eyes with more definition and longer false lashes to really play up those peepers and take this look from flirty to distinctly sex-kitten.
STMA SIGNATURE LOOK
There is something about dewy skin with highlight on fleek, bronzed-up peepers and a hot statement pink lip that we just love. This is one of our favourite looks to create for weddings, parties, anything!
Variation
Class it up with a nude lip of brown, pink or peach tone.
BABY DOLL-TURNED-PARTY GIRL
Oh sweetie, you are just too cute! Candy pink lips and half lashes with gold shimmery goodness to bring out those eyes. Fresh and youthful, this look is appropriate for all ages.
Variation
Swap out the gold for silver to match your colouring or accessories.
BRIGHT EYES
Make those eyes pop and wake up the whole face with a light shimmer on the inner. Corners, that is. Worn here with a pinky-peach shimmer eye, and a your-lips-but-better colour lipstick.
Variation
Another look you can stamp your personal flair on in any way you choose. Spice it up with glitter on the eyes, or a bold lip colour – we’re up for anything!
