THE CEZCH EMBASSY BACHELOR PROJECT

PROJECT DESCRITPTION A real life project with an international competition background that is conducted by the Czech Republic for its embassy in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. This project aims to combine a very detailed space program wth functionality, aesthetics, and the strict safety and privacy measures related to embassies. It combines several typologies into a single project: representative spaces, public services, residential spaces for different hierarchies and office spaces.

FACADE DETAIL

MATERIAL AND CONSTRUCTION Local forces: the choice of facade and construction material is greatly influenced by local avalaibility and labour. Construction: reinforced concrete shear walls and flat slab. Climate: concrete as a material is not affected by rain, thus suitable for ethiopia’s rainy weather. Durability: the exposed concrete facade will age handsomly over time.

AFRICAHUB Industrial Complex

PROJECT DESCRITPTION Located in the 10th of Ramadan Industrial City, this project aims to create an industrial complex for German technology companies in the heart of Egypt’s industrial city. The complex is composed of the following zones: production hall, logistics hall, administration building, education center, canteen area and finally a housing area for the workers.

ROCKTOP Boutique Hotel

PROJECT DESCRITPTION A boutique hotel located amongst the mountains of El Ain El Sokhna, this project explores cliffhanging architecture. Embedded in the mountains from one side and facing the sea from the other, the hotel consists of a series of platforms that serve both residential and leisure functions, connected by a panaramic foyer.

THE THRESHOLD: THE CULTURE, THE HISTORY AND THE SEA PORTSAID I Cultural Center

PROJECT DESCRITPTION At the head of Port Said’s city and the tip of the Suez Canal, the location of this project is of great historic and strategic significance. This cultural center aims to act as a landmark that provides insight to Port Said’s culture and history, with a memorial to honor the memory of the Suez martyrs.

The Port: Area of intervention.

Basic Geometry: 1. Cultural Center 2. Public Library 3. Museum. 4. Semsemeyyah.

The Grid: Extension of the Canal’s parallel and perpendicular grids, and the grid extended from the boulevard and facing the sea.

Organization and Placement: According to the grid inspired from the existing context.

Intervention: 1. Extension of the existing boulevard towards the area of intervention. 2. Creating a piaza at the head of the main street axis and the boulevard extension. 3. Adjusting the outline of the plot to accomodate the design and create an urban space. 4. Introducing the new function and design. 5. New Bus Stop. Main Axis and Pedestrian ways: - - - Pedestrian way ____ Main Street

Differentiation and hierchy: Adjusting masses’ size according to their hierchy and their gain of height. Sun/Wind Direction: Orienting the building towards the breeze from the north-east wind direction,and adjusting the height of the building to the sun direction as it starts low and gains height towards the south. Historical Respect: Establishing a memorial to make a statement and create an urban space.

WATERFRONT PORTSAID I Urban Analysis

PROJECT DESCRITPTION An urban analysis and study of Port Said’s touristic waterfront that aims to better understand the existing conditions and improving them. Potential urban strategies: transportation, urban furniture and shading elements, creating milestones, using green walls instead of fences, and introducing pedestrian ways.
