Student corner

The requirement of the studio was briefed down to reuse the existing buildings of the Vastrapur Village which is in Ahmedabad. Where we were asked to design a Folk institute which helps students to discover which field they are interested in. The proposal given by me was a student corner where the ground floor is used by elders and the other floors wee the hostels. The street acts as a major interactive space in the institute where both old and young learn everyday through interaction.

Exhibition space

There is a amphitheater at the entrance which acts as a gathering space. The importance of the temple is retained and the other houses are converted into a Exhibition space. The aim is to make the students experience different heights and different qualities of light.

More interacve spaces

less sun exposure

The site was in Bhutan where we had to design a pavilion. The main idea was to give the space an organic feel in harmony with the Bhutanese beauty. There one experiences the quality of light which would dramatically change throughout the day and reflects the beauty of the pavilion.

Original residence

Villa shodhan is a free standing structure which is the best example for hot and dry climate .Essentialy a cube in concrete the house is eloquently composed to kinetically balance the solids with the voids an elaborately louvered screen of the south-west provides the much needed shade from the haze and the heat of the sun for the while keeping it transparent .prevailing views outdoors
