Working with the human body to form his art, Musco created Aranea (a genus of orb-weaving spider) by photographing & weaving a digital web of groups of posed, naked bodies www.angelomusco.com
angelo musco’s aranea
(((RADAR ) )) Last September, Angelo Musco, a NYC-based digital print & installation artist, came to the Grande Arcade of Convention Hall to stage a large scale photo-shoot for one of his latest works, Aranea. In response to a open-call in AP, about 80 models were recruited to share in this “once in a lifetime” experience. Closed to the public at midnight, the group posed nude together in the Arcade for over 5 hours to create the numerous shapes needed for Musco to form the finished photograph. After several months of intense work creating a web with over 52,000 bodies, the spectacular final piece, a large scale 8 x 16 foot photograph in four panels, was completed & exhibited at Pulse Art Fair in Miami. A video documenting the Asbury Park photo-shoot was made & will be shown along with some shots of Aranea on our facebook pages.
