THE SALTY WALRUS JOURNEY
began out of a desire to
take the road less traveled
and a love of craft beer. To follow our undeniable passion to create, from our handcrafted beer to our adventure rich lifestyle. It’s the path unseen this brand celebrates, built by people from all walks of life; unique individuals with one thing in common - an unwavering passion for their craft. We get stoked on good surf, a long hike, some fresh snow, or a good-old-fashioned day of hard work. And we think these days are made all the better when we’re surrounded by friends with a cold beer in hand.
Salty Walrus Brewing Co. is a local brewery nestled in the agricultural Central Valley of California. The place our founders called home since 1992. Bounded by the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range to the east and the Central Coast to the west, we’re surrounded by all that inspires us – amazing friends, farms, mountains, and awesome surf.
We always believed that to squeeze the most juice out of this thing we call life, we had to take some risks and create our own path. So we did, and Salty Walrus was born… But the journey has just begun. It’s our goal to continue bringing people from all walks of life together, to share memories, and create new epic adventures along the way.
FARM TO BEER We’re passionate about where our ingredients
come from and we honor the farmers who make it possible to produce high quality craft beer.
BEER FOR THE JOURNEY We work hard so we can play harder. We prefer crisp crushable beers that bring life to the party.

SEÑOR SALTY Translation: Mister Salty. The head honcho of all the lagers. It’s like a margarita but better ‘cause it’s beer. Dig those feet into the sand and let’s get salty.
OUR FOUNDERS Born in the Central Valley of California, raised partially on the Central Coast and having lived the latter half of their years in San Diego, our founders’ journey has been anything but “boring”. Christian Carter and Will Peltzer attended San Diego State University, where they found themselves inundated with the craft beer culture. They wanted to go somewhere by the beach and somewhere they could party, so they moved to Pacific Beach. Home to Karl Strauss Brewing, Will’s first brewing gig, and a young tech startup where Christian launched his business career just after college. In 2020 they decided to turn their passion for craft beer into a business. This began their journey to bring San Diego style, handcrafted beer back to the Central Valley.
