This aero body style isn’t just to look good though. With an ultra-low drag coefficient of just 0.21, the IONIQ 6 is one of the most aerodynamic and energy efficient EVs on the market. Its WLTP-rated range on a single charge is 338 miles. If “range anxiety” was once a concern that might put off cautious buyers from EVs, this puts paid to that.

And did we mention the awards? It’s won more awards all over the world than we could possibly list on this page – not least World Car of the Year 2023 – with judges raving about its safety, clever features, such as regenerative braking, and, of course, the impressive efficiency figures.

And finally, the toughest judges of all. Our campsite was absolutely overrun with ex cited kids of all ages. They took one look at the Hyundai with its futuristic laser-cut 20” rims, then at my battered Land Rover next to it, and the verdict was unanimous. This one’s cooler.
