Microneedling is a minimally invasive skin rejuvenation treatment, which can be used on both the face and body. It can help people of all ages and all skin types and can help with many issues, including: lines and wrinkles; acne scarring; trauma, surgical scars and marks; pigmentation disorders; sagging skin and double chin; stretch marks and cellulite; and hair loss.

I opted for the face, to help with lines and wrinkles and generally improve hydration and the appearance of my complexion. The treatment involves a handheld device (m.pen [pro], which is applied to the surface of the skin. The micropunctures penetrate down to the dermal layers (the layers where collagens and elastins are formed) and activate the release of growth factors and stimulate the wound healing process to produce new collagen.

The injectable solution is bespoke; tailored to your personal skin concerns and what you are wanting to achieve. Your practitioner will complete a consultation beforehand and a treatment plan will then be put in place.

I’m quite squeamish, but I have to say that the treatment was relatively pain free, maybe a little tender on the forehead but not uncomfortable. I did have some redness, so I would advise having the treatment when you’re not going anywhere afterwards. I left with a lovely hydrated and glowing complexion, so I’ll be back to book a course of treatments.
