WANDERING THE WASTELAND OF CUSTOM PEDALBOARDS
THE RETURN OF STATE OF THE AWESOME! Dudes and lady dudes, it’s been a while. I’ve missed you dearly. Like really missed you. Sometimes I cry at night because I’ve missed you. The good news is we don’t have to be alone anymore, STATE OF THE AWESOME IS BACK! The last State of The Awesome was published over 2 years ago. Since then it’s been a wild ride. When we first started Salvage I pretty much got overwhelmed by orders near instantly. People were pissed because orders were late and I felt bad taking any time to do basically anything else but try and satisfy my irate customers, especially make videos, which I love to do. I told myself that as soon as things got caught up I would start doing State of The Awesome videos again. Well kids, things are caught up! So State of The Awesome will be a regular thing now. Get used to it!
Here’s why you’ve been so lonely: In the past 2 years I had been fumbling along trying to figure out how to run my business and came to a point where I was the only guy working here, trying to build way too much stuff and never seeing my family. I took a good long look at my operations, made some changes and took a big risk in hiring a few guys. Luckily we’ve been able to push past the initial learning curve and we’ve seriously increased our output. Check out the new Salvage Custom crew below. This team is more talented than they may look and more fun than they do look…
Honestly, Salvage Custom was never supposed to be just a custom pedal board company. I wanted it to be a more well rounded custom gear company with endless possibilities, and that is something that we will be looking to dive into in the not so distant future. But the demand has been so high for pedal boards and cases and amps and wraps and you name it that I couldn’t resist stoking our followers out. Meeting that demand was tough by me. But now I have my team helping. I am
humbled by their belief in the builds and their relenting positive support. They all wear many hats and are amazing Salvage brand ambassadors. Looks like I have no choice but to grow the company and share our work with as many of you out there that want it. So I say, spread the Salvage Custom message. We’re ready for the response! I’m very much looking forward to building more custom speaker cabinets, equipment cases, pedal train cases, and all kinds of other goodies. Salvage is now a very productive open book. I’d love to carve a chapter out for each and every one of you. Speaking of chapters in our lives….. One of the super cool things that happened this month was a pedal board build we did for Tim Lee of the Tim Lee 3. Tim purchased the very first board ever from us! I had built a few boards as a hobby, put them online to make a little extra gear money and launched a Face book Page. I didn’t tell any of my friends and I didn’t really know what to expect. Sure enough after a week, one of the boards had sold! I have always been grateful for customers who have believed in the brand but I’m especially grateful for Tim believing in us and sending good money to a no name company. It was the spark that started the avalanche, error is that a saying? Anyway, I hit him up a couple months ago to thank him and let him know that I wanted to build him whatever he wanted pro bono. He chose a barn wood board and let me decide on the wrap. Well, it’s done and looks amazing! Tim’s more than excited to get it and we’ll be shipping it out after we show it off at our Anniversary Party.
