YOUNG MUSICIANS DEVOTIONS ALOVE UK & MUSIC MINISTRIES UNIT This series of devotions on the senses has been written by Christina White who is part of CARUS, a new expression of The Salvation Army in Chelmsford, Essex. This series requires your group to split into small groups for Discussion and prayer. If this isn’t something they have done before you might want to consider appointing leaders for each group to help.
COMMUNITY 4 – CELEBRATING Resources Needed – Cakes, sweets, drinks, party hats etc Thought - Most of us love a good celebration – a birthday, passing an exam, getting your driving licence. When these great things happen to us, we normally feel so excited and cant wait to tell the people around us. When we celebrate, its best to celebrate with other people, other wise we’d have a pretty boring time!! Ask the group if there are things they are celebrating right now. It might be some good news they or a family member or friend have received. It might be something great going on at their local corps. It can be anything they want to celebrate. So, to finish off the practice, we are going to share in a celebration as community. We are going to celebrate the fact that we are blessed to know the love of God and the fact that we are able to share the joy that brings to each of us together. I Chronicles 16:34 says this; “Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever.” Prayer - Now all glory to God, who is able to keep you from falling away and will bring you with great joy into his glorious presence without a single fault. All glory to him who alone is God, our Saviour through Jesus Christ our Lord. All glory, majesty, power, and authority are his before all time, and in the present, and beyond all time! Amen Activity – Enjoy a party together, play games, eat cake and celebrate being a community.
