Welcome to The Salvation Army! We are always happy to answer any questions you might have. What, and who, is the Salvation Army? The Salvation Army is an international movement and is part of the Christian Church and a registered charity. Founded in 1865 by William Booth, we demonstrate our Christian principles through social welfare provision. If you would like to know more about our history please feel free to ask. What do you do here in Wisbech? Our (Corps) church here is one of the Salvation Army’s nearly 16,000 churches and community centres worldwide. Like most of these, we offer a range of worship and other activities within our local community. People can be involved with us in all sorts of ways. These range from attending our church services to helping with our weekday activities and/or fundraising.
