Meet Photographer Duncan Williams Hometown: Scotch Plains, New Jersey How did you get started? Tell us a little about yourself. I started taking photographs of friends in high school and it carried over into college and into adulthood. While in high school, I dressed up and took self portraits with a timer on my film Mamiya Sekor 1000 camera. I modeled and walked the annual GQ and The Congressional Black Caucus shows and did acting in the Washington, DC area in the late 80s. Fashion has always been a part of my life in one way or another. My style of shooting fashion goes in different directions. It can be trendy, high fashion or edgy it’s all commercial work after it’s done. I also shoot high end sports photography, such as pro and college sports. I’m passionate about all types of fashion and photography. Three adjectives to describe yourself. Funny, Patient, and Committed What do you enjoy the most about photography? I enjoy all the aspects of photography. There are so many talented photographers out there and I just love it. Everyone is unique. What do you not enjoy about photography? I have experienced some negative vibes from other photographers, especially in the sports field which is not cool. Favorite color? Hmmm, that’s a good one cause I love them all especially mixed colors and textures, but I think green colors tends to stand out the most.

Favorite superhero? Why? Batman. Cause he was a New Yorker. What is your favorite word? Stay positive. Least favorite? No. What was the last picture you took with your phone? Meet Model Bethany Chasteen Hometown: Chesapeake, Virginia How did you get started? Tell us a little about yourself. I am a very diverse mix of ethnicities. My dad is African American, Mexican, and Cherokee and my mother is Caucasian, French European, Creole, and Sioux Indian. I was born with Sickle cell anemia and had a very hospitalized youth including removal of my spleen, gallbladder and lung fluid from blood clots. I continue to fight pain every day, but keep moving and push harder to get to where I wanted to be in life. When I won the Sickle Cell pageant in my teens, I actually felt beautiful and that I could be seen as normal even with a childhood full of hospitalizations and constant pain that continues to this day. I had images done and set up my images on websites where I was scouted to come up to NY and got signed. Three adjectives to describe yourself. I am a Scorpio so determined, passionate, and a bit feisty. What do you enjoy the most about modeling? Meeting so many talented people coming together to produce art. What do you not enjoy about modeling? Castings that last hours. Favorite color? Rose Gold Favorite food? Any dish that has to do with rice. What designer would you love to model/walk for? Why? Saint Laurent I love its sleek and modern vibe. Plus the fact that they use 14 a variety of diverse models for their campaigns and shows. SALYSÉ MAY 2018

What photographer would you love to shoot with? Why? I’ve shot with many great photographers, but I’d love to shoot with one of the classic greats Irving Penn, whose art displayed so much feeling. Speak it into existence, where do you see yourself in 5 years? Happy with my husband and maybe one kid living in a nice home, working as a model still and masters in science as a nurse practitioner. Dream vacation you would like to take (or have taken)? I’ve been to some beautiful places, but one I would love to see would be Australia. Your zodiac sign? I am a Scorpion queen. Favorite superhero? Why? My mother. She had a very hard upbringing with 11 brothers and sisters and went and got an amazing education including her Masters in Science and stuck through having me as a daughter being born with Sickle Cell anemia along with her own trials and tribulations. She is the ultimate superhero. What person, living or dead, do you admire the most? Why? Myself for all that I’ve been through and overcome. What’s your favorite quote? I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. What’s your theme song? “Be Alright” by Ariana Grande. What is your favorite body part? In myself, my side profile, lol always my go to. In men, I love their hands. Hands can show a lot about someone.

What do you do when you are not modeling? Try different places to eat, work as a nurse, watch movies and shows. Favorite movie? I love Snowpiercer it is a 3 hour movie, but I’ve seen over 3 times. Favorite actor/actress? Do not have one at this time. Your idea of “happiness” and/or your idea of “misery”. My idea of happiness is feeling a sense of fulfillment and purpose to anything you choose to do. And misery is the opposite. If you could learn to do anything, what would it be? Finally become fluent in Spanish. Guilty Pleasure? Reese’s… all kinds. Last show you binge-watched? Practically all of Netflix, Game of Thrones being a fav. Last book you read? The Bible. Anything else you want the readers to know about you? Believe in God’s strength, stay motivated and chase your dreams no matter what. Follow Bethany on Social Media IG: @_chasteen__
