With the lid closed, the design presents itself as a distinctive hall chest with tortoise shell finished drawers, intricate corner brackets and custom drawer pulls set on decorative back plates. The piece has a finished back to delight from any viewing angle. The top row of faux drawers flips opens to reveal a mirror-backed shelf and extendable serving surface. Below on the right, faux drawers are actually a single door behind which is a two-tiered wine rack, adjustable shelf and stemware storage. Below on the left is a single drawer for storage, beneath which is a double deep full extension drawer for spirits and mixers.

The Mercer sideboard is a statement of fine craftsmanship, featuring relief carvings across the entire front of the piece. Often the size of a room dictates the need for items of scale that make a statement. The Berkshire sofa and Harwick leather trunk cocktail were designed for that purpose. The sofa features generous scroll carvings on the arm and elegant woven accents on the ends. The faux hinges on the trunk cocktail are decorative. Crafted in Mahogany solids and veneers, the Windsor finish is a rich brown coloration, moderately distressed and hand rubbed to a soft waxy luster. Tops are hand hewn for authenticity, and certain items are accented with a custom tortoise shell finish.
CUSTOM HARDWARE
In keeping with the authenticity of British Colonial styling, custom hardware is integral to the design of each piece. There are two color tones used on the hardware, each with a burnished aged brass patina.
