Introduction What is theraFIT? theraFIT is a workout system design specifically for the hospital and rehabilitation setting. The system encourages the patient to workout while building off of the current preventions used in the hospital. The system grows with the patient as they move through therapy to recovery. Warning. 1. Before using, read up on all warning and instruction on the use of the devices. 2. Obtain an exam by a certified therapist before the beginning any exercise program. 3. Make sure to use the device with a therapist first before using alone. 3. Keep body and clothing free of all moving objects. 4. Inspect the devices before use. DO NOT use if it appears damaged. DO NOT attempt to fix a broke or damaged device. Notify provider immediately. 7. Inspect Thera-Band and their connections before using devices. DO NOT attempt to use a freyed band. Seek assistance if band appeares to be damaged.

Band Attachment WHAT IS IT | The Band Attachment is comprised of two parts: The upper lock and the lower lock. When closed together the Attachment holds the TheraBand at desired length. FEATURES | Upper lock contains the mirrored locking device that is present on all parts. This allows the user to lock the Band Attachment onto the Handle, the Anchor Point, as well as back on itself to make a loop.

Handle WHAT IS IT | The Handle gives the user a comfortable place to place their hands and or feet. The Handle is designed to flex around the user’s hand or foot to give a unique fit. FEATURES | The Handle contains an accelerometer RFID chip that transmits the user’s workout duration to the Receiver. When within 1 meter of the Receiver the RFID chip will be activated and begin to transmit.

Receiver WHAT IS IT | The Receiver allows the user to track their progress as they continue through their therapy to recovery. When within 1 meter of the Handle, the Receiver will connect and start collecting the transmitted information from the accelerometer RFID. FEATURES | The Receiver can hold up to 2 months worth of data, and has a 2 day battery. It contains a micro USB port that allows the user to connect it to a computer and download the information collected.

Anchor Point WHAT IS IT | The Anchor Point allows the user to secure the Thera-Band to [things] like chair arms, table legs, bed rails, to increase the opportunities for working out. FEATURES | The Anchor Point is adjustable, allowing it to fit a variety of areas.

How to use Mirrored Locks

Align two Band Attachments up so that the small insert of one Attachment lines up with opening of the over lock of the other.

Twist two Attachments together until the small inserts are completely covered by the over locks.

Assembling Thera-Band and Band Attachments

Twist two Band Attachments apart.

Squeeze mirroring buttons, then pull the Top Band Attachment apart from the Band Bottom Attachment.

Once Thera-Band is in place, shut Band Attachment. Repeat process, on opposite end of Thera-Band with remaining Band Attachment.

THERAPIST NOTE: Before starting, cut Thera-Band at appropriate length for patient.

Once Band Attachment is open, thread the Thera-Band through opening. Have five inches of tail sticking out. 10


How to use the Receiver Turning on Receiver

Hold the HOME button until the screen lights up.

Receiver will beep once when it has found RFID chip.

Once connected receiver will begin to receive the transmitted information.

Turning off, or, putting the Receiver to sleep

To put the receiver to SLEEP, click the HOME button once, and the screen will go dark. To wake the device, click the home button once.

To turn the receiver OFF, hold the HOME button until the goodbye screen appears. The screen will go dark when the receiver has turned off.

How to use the Receiver Navigating the Receiver

Home screen will show the weeks process in HH:MM:SS.

The second view is the calender view. Navigate there by clicking the CALENDER button.

The calender view will show a monthly overview (in minutes) of the patients progress.

Charging the Receiver

The receiver can hold a charge for 48 hours. When the battery is low the receiver will beep twice and a warning label will appear.

Plug in the receiver using the micro USB cord provided.

How to use the Receiver Downloading the Data

The receiver can hold two months of data. When the receiver gets close to capacity, it will beep twice and a warning label will appear.

Click DOWNLOAD button in the lower left corner.

Plug the receiver into a computer running EXCEL, using the provided micro USB cord. Then click ACCEPT THE NEW DEVICE on the computer.

Save downloaded information to desired location.

The information can be opened up in an EXCEL spreadsheet.

Before disconnecting the receiver, EJECT the receiver from the computer. Then unplug the device.

Attach Anchor Points onto bed handrails so they are even with patient’s hip THERAPIST NOTE: Assistance should be given when setting up the for first time.

Take assembled Thera-Band and lock one end into the right Anchor Point and the other into a Handle.

Grab Handle with left hand and extend arm across the body. Repeat as prescribed by therapist. Remove Band Attachment from Anchor and place on left Anchor. Repeat exercise with right arm.

Remove Band Attachment from Anchor Point and attach remaining Handle.

Place each Handle around each ankle/foot.

Extend and contract the legs.

Keeping the handles around the feet/ankles, bring both feet close to the butt. Extend the right leg out, then lift. Repeat with left leg. Repeat as prescribed by therapist.

Attach Anchor Points onto chairs back two legs.

Take assembled Thera-Band and lock one end into the right Anchor Point and the other into a Handle.

Place handle around right foot. Extend leg in and out. Repeats as prescribed by therapist.

Remove Band Attachment and lock onto left Anchor Point. Repeat Anchor Point workout on opposite side.
