A new chapter in our evolution.
Tradition that looks to the future. Our company was founded in Italy in 1942, in the middle of the second world war. To survive such a turbulent period, a company needs determination, plenty of ambition and a solid foundation on which to build. And it is a testament to our determination that, just ten years later, we were able to produce the very first four-wheel drive tractor powered by a diesel engine. SAME makes its own history. With the passing of time our machines became ever more efficient, more advanced, with increased technological content, while still retaining the human dimension, being reliable and easy to operate. This balance of power and precision has enabled the company to gain international recognition and to export the value and prestige of Italian manufacturing throughout the world. Seventy years have passed since we founded our marque and, throughout all that time, we have never ceased to invest in innovation. The restyling of our graphic logo launched this year underlines the fact that, at SAME, tradition always looks to the future. On the occasion of the our 70th anniversary, our wish is to continue to improve and to never fall short of our customers’ expectations.

Deutz Common Rail (DCR) engine with 24 valve cylinder head, AGRex Exhaust Gas Recirculation system (externally cooled), electronic fuel injection, dual circuit cooling (liquid/oil), and new fuel prefilter with water separator to ensure the injection system stays 100% efficient at all times. These are just some of the salient characteristics introduced for the new DEUTZ 2013 series Tier III engines installed on Diamond machines. The power of the engine is translated into an efficient working force thanks to an exceptional transmission. With 6 synchronized ranges, each with 4 Powershift speeds (giving a total 40 ratios in both forward and reverse), DIAMOND is able to progress from 450 m/h up to 50 km/h* with breathtaking

Iron 165.7 is the best middle-high power tractor designed by SAME to take technology a step forward into the future. A step forward that changes the whole concept of “tractor”, transforming it from a simple farming vehicle to a productive, versatile and comfortable machine. Total reliability, driving comfort, state-of-the-art technology and superior equipment these are the characteristics that make Iron the ideal choice for all conditions, destined to become inseparable and loyal companion in your work. Features include 50 km/h transmission with 4-stage Powershift gearbox, APS, SBA/ASM with hydraulic power shuttle for working at the right speed at all times and an electronic lift with radar for precision control of all implement movements. And then there is the air-conditioned cab, the pneumatic driver’s seat with built-in multifunction armrest console, the high-visibility roof and the front axle with hydropneumatic suspension: all designed for total comfort. Finally, at the heart of the whole range is the latest generation of Deutz engines, the height of innovation brought by SAME to its customers.
Iron 165.7 is equipped with the 6-cylinder Tier II Deutz engine, 7146 cc with turbocharger and intercooler, electronic regulator and an injection system with single high-pressure pumps (1400 bar), which, thanks also to the innovative design of the combustion chambers, guarantee particularly high effi ciency levels, very high torques and limited fuel consumption. The cooling system is as effi cient as it is functional: the fi ve radiators (coolant, gear oil, diesel, intercooler and air conditioning condenser) are positioned in series to give

maximum air-fl ow exposure whilst occupying the least possible space. Furthermore, the exclusive “compass” radiator opening system makes cleaning and maintenance much easier. All the controls, colour-coded into different function groups, are arranged functionally and ergonomically around the operator, positioned according to frequency of use. The driver’s seat, as well as having a wide range of position settings, has pneumatic suspension that automatically adapts to the driver’s weight.

Designed and built to meet a wide range of agricultural requirements, SAME Laser models are productive and versatile, perfectly capable of taking on the toughest of tillage and general yard duties without difficulty. An advantageous power-to-weight ratio, correct weight distribution and high technical specifications guarantee maximum efficiency under all conditions, while intelligent ergonomics and an intuitive control layout make these machines easy to operate right from the outset. SAME Tier II 6-cylinder turbocharged engines, 40 km/h transmission, powerful hydraulic lift, disc brakes on all 4 wheels and a cab with high visibility roof... where the needs of the medium size enterprise are concerned, tractors of this range fit the bill perfectly. In effect, the Laser package offers extraordinary handling and manoeuvrability, complemented by notably high work rates on the land and around the yard, whatever the version: platform, or equipped with a comfortable suspended cab.
All round vision is further enhanced by the high visibility roof with its generously proportioned glass hatch, which will ensure the operator can perform every kind of manoeuvre when using a front loader, without ever losing sight of the attachment, even in poor or fading light. Engines of the Laser range embody a whole new concept in efficiency, delivering a torque rise of up to 36% that will ensure any task on the soil or on the road can be tackled without

difficulty, even in the toughest of situations. Levels of comfort and productivity are always high with these engines, thanks to the use of modern electronic control media: a state-of-the-art system that optimizes fuel consumption by ensuring exactly the right amount of fuel is supplied to the injectors, in response to varying load conditions.

The Explorer³ constitutes the evolution of a project that has its roots and long experience acquired by SAME as a maker of medium horsepower tractors and is now reflected in a range of machines that achieve the perfect balance between technological content, functionality and comfort. The idea: to create an ideal match between electronic components of the latest generation (fitted where perfection is obtainable only with the precision of digital instruments), conventional mechanical and hydraulic systems (reliability guaranteed by simplicity of operation, user-friendly maintenance and long service life), and care for the well-being of the operator (ergonomically engineered controls combined with attractive design). The result: a brilliant mix of performance, productivity and comfort that enhances the features of the range, making Explorer³ a tractor that combines the qualities of three conventional machines.
Explorer³ models are equipped with the modern SDF Tier III 2012 series 4-cylinder engines, developed especially for agricultural use and offering consistently high levels of efficiency combined with low specific fuel consumption. Thanks to their generous 4000 cc displacement, innovative high pressure injection system and turbocharger (all models), these are engines guaranteed to deliver significantly high power and torque over a wide range of engine speeds. The electrohydraulic shuttle lever incorporates a thumbwheel modulation control with which the operator can select a sharper or softer response from the shuttle, according to the operating requirements.

Simple, straightforward and highly intuitive. These are the main features typifying SAME tractors of the Tiger range, designed to give versatile and efficient service either as all-purpose machines for small enterprises, or as auxiliaries alongside the high powered machines of fleets operated by larger organizations. The Tiger range offers a variety of models and equipment packages: multi-capable machines offering the perfect compromise between performance and reliability, and low running costs. Notable for their distinct compactness and flexibility, Tiger will prove more than useful in a wide variety of work situations: general yard duties, haymaking, livestock management and light tillage.
Wiring harnesses and all other parts under the one-piece hood are organized and rationalized in such a way that components will be better protected and last longer, and servicing points can be accessed more easily. Excess clearance between calipers and brake discs is taken up by an innovative self-adjust system that brings several advantages: less power dissipated on releasing the brake pedals, discs less prone to

overheating, longer service life and efficiency of the braking system. With excellent weight distribution, an optimum balance between low centre of gravity and high ground clearance, and high visibility in all directions, the sensation of safety and stability aboard the Tiger is palpable.

The SAME DEUTZ-FAHR Group, founded in 1927 in Treviglio by Eugenio and Francesco Cassani, is today one of the world’s main manufacturers of tractors, combine harvesters, farm machinery and engines. The company’s products are marketed under the brands SAME, LAMBORGHINI, DEUTZ-FAHR, HÜRLIMANN, LAMBORGHINI GREEN PRO and GRÉGOIRE.

The Group strategy, which has long been oriented towards internationalisation, combines decentralised production activities with an extensive sales and service network providing full coverage of all key markets. Sales, after-sales service and spare parts distribution are handled by 15 subsidiaries, 120 importers, and 3,000 dealers located in all parts of the world. This ensures an immediate response to the needs of users and a direct and conscious relationship with the specific requirements of local agriculture. The Group’s production facilities are based on four plants in Europe (Italy, Germany, France and Croatia), one in India, one in Russia and one in China.
