the traction of the machine when operating with an implement in the toughest of conditions. In this situation, on the new IRON 3 190-220, the “instantaneous centre of rotation” (or DRP) - the point at which machine and implement combined exert their strongest grip - moves forward along the longitudinal axis of the vehicle and effectively generates downforce on the

The sophisticated power of the new Deutz engine Deutz Common Rail (DCR) fuel injection system, internal exhaust gas recirculation (iEGR) system, turbocharger and intercooler, electronic fuel injection control, dual circuit liquid/oil cooling system and fuel cooler for better overall combustion efficiency. These are just some of the innovative engineering features of the 7-litre DEUTZ 2013 series Euro III engine specified for the new IRON 3 190-220. Thanks to the brand new high pressure DEUTZ Common Rail fuel injection system using two wet pumps housed in the cylinder block, and new combustion chambers in the piston crowns, the engine is able to deliver consistently high levels of efficiency even in the toughest of conditions. In practice, the DCR system is able to boost the injection pressure up to 1600 bar, thereby encouraging a better blend of fuel and air, independently of the engine revolutions. This feature, in combination with the electronic engine management
system, has the effect of producing a significant torque rise, from the lowest crankshaft speeds. In addition, the new vertical exhaust with integral silencer is instrumental in optimizing gas flow and lowering the temperature under the hood. All in all, the new DEUTZ engine helps to achieve a significant reduction in noise levels, both at minimal and at nominal crankshaft speeds, also higher starting torque, and lower fuel consumption.

100% biodiesel. A resource for nature too‌ Thanks to a number of unique design features and to the use of first-rate materials in manufacture, the engine of the new IRON3 190-220 is not only functional but also totally compatible with biodiesel fuel, allowing blend ratios of up to 100% (biodiesel responding to the specifications of EN 14214:2003). Biodiesel typically has a higher viscosity than other engine fuels and is chemically more aggressive, but Deutz engines are equipped with a special fuel injection system utilizing immersed pumps - one to each single injector - and a fuel feed circuit with components manufactured from special materials, and consequently able to run on these new fuels without difficulty.

Sense Clutch power shuttle Operation safety and comfort
The new IRON 3 190-220 is a joy to drive, offering top level features that include a hydraulic reverse shuttle with SENSE CLUTCH, utilizing 2 sets of oil-immersed discs (one forward, one reverse), operated simply by moving a handy lever located under the steering column, with no need to press the clutch pedal. Shuttling between forward and reverse, can also be undertaken using the armrest multi-control lever which makes headland turns or when manoeuvring in restricted spaces: much safer and less tiring for the operator. The shuttle will operate on gradients, and can be engaged at speeds up to 13 km/h.
Response control The lever of the power shuttle incorporates a thumbwheel control (potentiometer) that can be used by the operator to select a sharper or softer response from the shuttle, according to the requirements of the operation.

An intelligent transmission
The 2 electrohydraulic clutch assemblies ensure smooth and effortless selection of the 24 gear speeds. The first set of 12 ratios - with the vehicle moving at up to 19 km/h in 12th gear - is used exclusively for field and other off-road applications. The second set of 12 ratios, intended for use on the road, will take the vehicle from standstill up to 40/50 km/h (where permitted by local traffic laws) with the engine running at 1450/1750 rpm. Whether in the field or on the road, the new IRON3 190-220 will tackle any kind of task without the need to change the speed range.
With the addition of a creeper range, the speeds become 33 + 33 and IRON3 190-220 models are fully equipped for even the slowest of applications (down to 650 m/h). Automatic-Powershift (APS) The performance advantages of the electronic powershift can be enhanced further by the addition of an electronic control unit that will automatically select the right speed for any given situation, without risk of error. This relieves the operator from the task of changing the gears with each variation in load or engine revolutions, as the selection of the appropriate speed is managed by an electronically monitoring operating system. The full “intelligence� of the
APS system is reflected in its ability to respond instantaneously to sudden changes in power demand by selecting the most suitable speed. Depressing the accelerator pedal sharply to its full travel, the gearbox will drop down one or two speeds automatically, so that the engine can respond immediately to the demand for more power when called for.

Less pedal effort, and a lot more safety 12
The new POWER BRAKE ensures that minimal effort applied by the operator when depressing the brake pedal will produce an instant, powerful and controllable response, thanks to the constant pressure characteristic of the hydraulic circuit. The POWER BRAKE system also includes an auxiliary accumulator for emergency situations, which will allow up to 10 brake applications in complete safety, even without the engine running.
IRON3 models are equipped with a load-sensing hydraulic system rated 113 l/min that can accommodate up to 7 auxiliary spool valves (5 rear + 2 front). The spool valves all incorporate flow control and timer functions, and are operated by a combination of handy pushbuttons on the PowerComS joystick, a cross-gate lever on the armrest, and smart thumbwheels on the side console. With load sensing, the power output and the oil flow rate needed to ensure constant pressure are adapted continuously on the basis of the demand from the hydraulic service. Accordingly, the variable displacement hydraulic pump supplies only
the amount of oil actually needed at any given moment, with the result that less power is wasted and wear on all hydraulic components is also reduced The external ports are specified with push-pull type quick couplers, so that oil lines can be connected while under pressure, and a special container collects any oil that may drip from the couplers when the hoses of implements are attached. Big lifting power Implements hitched to the electronic hitch are under constant control, accurately and automatically, through a continuous analysis of input data from sensors. In addition, the electronic hitch of IRON3 190-220 models - rated a generous 10,000 kg - is equipped with an oscillation damping system that comes into operation at speeds above 8 km/h, to prevent any dangerous swaying motion that could occur when transporting heavy implements on the road.
Electronic hitch IRON3 190-220 tractors are equipped with the EHR electronic hitch providing draft, position, mix and wheelslip control. Whenever the lift is activated by pushing the button on the joystick, the system automatically runs an auto-test procedure using an internal diagnostics program. The basic setting for the EHR system is easily accomplished by way of a control unit that will automatically check the following functions: draft control and position control, ‘mix’ control, quick drop, float, wheelslip, oscillation damping, transport lock, maximum lift height and rate-of-drop. The control used to operate the rear lift is incorporated into the PowerComS joystick.

The cab is genuinely quiet, with an internal noise level of just 72 dB(A), achieved through high standards of design; a one-piece structure, welded and sealed with absolute precision; floor mat made of new sound absorbent and sound insulating materials; lower front window panels with double sealed units - and engines are now quieter too.
Ventilation system with a powerful 4 speed fan unit rated 580 m3/h. Air is drawn into the cab from a “neutral� and therefore less dusty area of the exterior, through 2 filters incorporated into the door pillars, then circulated around the cab by way of 14 vents, each adjustable for volume and direction to cater for personal preference and provide flexibility of use. The air vents are located at the top of the pillars and posts, so that the temperature in the cab can be regulated swiftly to the required level. The cab is also pressurized internally, so that whenever the doors are closed, the higher pressure within the enclosure will minimize the risk of exposure to pollen and chemicals.

Engine speeds and operating modes are displayed analogically. The on-board computer with integrated check panel provides information on P.T.O. speeds and ground speeds. The driver can also check on wheelslip, elapsed time, current fuel consumption, hectares cultivated and soil engage-
The iMonitor: a new multimedia interface allowing management of the main tractor functions by way of a control panel with a thumbwheel, easy to use and highly intuitive. The following functions are integrated: main menu controlling all machine functions; (lift, PTO, spool valves, engine and transmission, ASM and cab suspension); performance
monitor (fuel consumption, productivity and area-tillage information); ISO-bus monitor allowing the use of ISO-bus compatible implements; mp3 player and Bluetooth hands-free speakerphone. The iMonitor is operated by way of a Multicontroller with a knob, pressed and turned to scroll the individual tractor menus into positions where they can be set and/or checked by the operator. This kind of control features the same operating principle as used by leading automobile makers for navigation systems and other similar menu-driven devices. Easy to see, and easy to understand. A screen with an attractive graphic display creates a reassuring sense of order and clarity, with conventional symbols ensuring that users can quickly familiarize themselves and gain expertise with the instrument. For the first time, a tractor equipped with hands-free Bluetooth, mp3 player, radio and automatic CCTV reversing camera: features available up to now, only on other vehicles. The iMonitor can also be used for implements controlled by ISOBUS commands, which means the operator need keep an eye on one terminal only.
