How to Design Your Own Stickers Custom stickers are so easy to make and can be used on greeting cards, scrapbook pages, notebooks and anywhere else you want to make a personal statement. Follow these simple steps and you'll be designing your own stickers in no time. Things You'll Need 
Ink-jet or laser printer Sticker paper
Instructions o
1 Choose a graphic for your design. You can use a photo or clip art from your word processor, graphics program or even online.
o
2 Choose a font and a message, if appropriate. There are thousands of free fonts online if you want something special.
o
3 Use a graphics program or word processor to create your design. Avery has a free online graphics design program on its website if you don't have software of your own. You can also download GIMP, which is a free photo/graphics editor.
o
4 Decide what size you'd like your final sticker to be. Use the rulers in your editing program to judge the size of your design. You can click and drag your graphic or adjust your font to the size you're looking for.
o
5 If you want just one sticker, go on to Step 6. For multiples, you can copy and paste your design over and over, or add new designs. Place them close together to avoid wasting sticker paper.
o
6 Print a copy of the design on a blank piece of regular printer paper. Make sure you're happy with the result.
o
7 Set your printer settings to best quality and glossy paper (or sticker paper if the option exists).
o
8 For a full page of stickers, insert the sticker paper into the printer as you normally would and print. Print one sheet at a time and leave plenty of time for the stickers to dry. You can then cut out individual stickers with sharp scissors. Make sure to follow the directions that come with the sticker paper.
o
9 For one sticker that is smaller than a full sheet of paper, cut out a piece of sticker paper just larger than the sticker design. Use the sample print out as a guide. Tape the sticker paper onto the sample print out, making sure that it covers the design and that the tape doesn't interfere with the design. Print the sticker. Make sure to follow the directions that come with the sticker paper.
Tips & Warnings
There are many types of sticker paper. Decide whether you want repositionable stickers or permanent. Repositionable stickers still stick, but allow you to move the stickers before fully committing. Be aware of copyright and restrictions of use of images, especially if you'll be distributing your stickers. Make sure to choose the correct sticker paper for your printer. Using ink-jet stickers in a laser printer can ruin your printer.
