Exporting the available InDesign file in a pdf format will be a better option because generally printers do prefer this type of file format. After naming the export file you will see a dialogue box appearing on the screen, also a menu will appear below somewhere asking you to select the pdf format which you want to use . also printer will inform about the nature of pre-set it uses for printing, after which you can proceed further according to your requirements.
