How to Save Illustrator Files for Shirt Printing If you are submitting a file for shirt printing, pixelation due to image stretching can be a big problem. The Adobe Illustrator software allows amateur and professional graphic designers to save their files as Encapsulated PostScript files (EPS). The software saves the artwork as a vector, which allows stretching and manipulation of the lines and curves without compromising the integrity of the image quality. 1 Launch your Illustrator software by clicking on the Illustrator icon or click on "Start" and scroll up to "All Programs" to find the Illustrator program.

2 Open your Illustrator project file. Click "File" and choose the "Open Project" option. Browse through your folders and files and load your project document.

3 Double-check to make sure your artwork is ready for shirt printing before saving the file.

4 Click on the "File" tab and select the "Save As" option. Give your file a name by changing it in the text-bar located on the top of the "Save As" window.

5 Select your save destination. In order to retrieve your file quickly, make sure you know exactly where the destination on your computer before you save.

Click the drop down menu next to the "Format" section. Choose the "Illustrator EPS" option and click "Save" to begin to EPS file extension conversion and save.
