Improvements to these buildings will include energy efficiency upgrades, structural repairs, window replacement, layout modifications, site improvements and upgrades to kitchens and finishes. The project also involves the acquisition and renovation of 12 buildings at 100 and 94 Lower Welden Street with a total of 24 units. The 12 units at 100 Lower Welden Street currently have project-based rental assistance. Improvements to these buildings will include roofing replacement, kitchen replacements and energy efficiency upgrades. SWANTON BOARD VACANCIES The Town of Swanton Selectboard is seeking applicants to fill five volunteer positions on its land use boards. Two vacancies are for 4-year positions on the Development Review Board. One vacancy is for a 4-year position on the Planning Commission. Another vacancy is for a 1-year position as the Town of Swanton’s representative on the Northwest Regional Planning Commission’s Board of Directors. Another vacancy is for a 1-year position as the Town of Swanton representative on the Northwest Regional Planning Commission’s Transportation Advisory Committee. Each position requires attendance and participation at one night meeting monthly. Development Review Board Staffed by our Zoning Administrator, the DRB is charged with conducting formal hearings on developments in a fair and unbiased manner. At their hearings, the Board takes testimony, reviews evidence, and renders decisions in accord with our regulations. In general, the DRB meets twice a month. There are two vacancies for 3 year terms and 2 alternate seats for a 1 year term available. Regional Planning Commission This Commission consists of 2 members from each town in the Franklin/Grand Isle region. It is commissioned to plan for regional projects, bylaws, town plans etc. This commission meets monthly at Northwest Regional Planning Commission. There are 2 positions for 1 year terms available. State Correctional Center Liaison Committee This committee meets on a quarterly basis with the Superintendent of the Northwest Correctional Facility and then reports back to the Selectboard. There are 3 positions for 1 year terms available.
