FOLLOWING PROJECT COMPONENTS -STREAM DAYLIGHTING, -WETLAND RESTORATION; AND -BRIDGE WORK: PROCUREMENT & INSTALLATION Proposal Submission Northwest Regional Planning Commission (NRPC) with funding from the Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) Ecosystem Restoration Program is accepting proposals until 3:00 P.M. July 3, 2012 at the address below for a three-part stream daylighting, wetland restoration and bridge procurement and construction project at the Collins Perley Sports Complex in St. Albans Town, Vermont. The project, which consists of a culvert removal and a constructed natural wetland/stream channel, is expected to reduce flooding and improve water quality in the western area of the Complex. This is a three-part project. Firms may submit proposals for one or more components of the project, which are as follows: A) Stream Daylighting - daylighting and channel/corridor restoration of approximately 300 feet of stream currently piped through a culvert and the removal of said culvert; B) Revegetation - the expansion and restoration of the wetland just downstream of the northern property boundary; C) Bridge Work - procurement and installation of a pedestrian bridge and a tractor bridge. These project components are expected to carry out the objectives of reducing flooding problems, improving habitat features of the site; providing phosphorus mitigation within the greater landscape; and educating the public. Pre-Bid Meeting A non-mandatory prebid meeting and walk through is scheduled for Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at 8:00 a.m. at the site, which is located at 890 Fairfax Road, St. Albans, VT at the intersection of Route 104 and the St. Albans State Highway at Exit 19 on Interstate 89.
