The successful candidate must demonstrate knowledge of and have experience with the many various aspects of staging a musical production. This person must be able to work with elementary through high school age students, as well as with a variety of adult volunteers. This is a co-curricular position with the following responsibilities: Meet with pit band director, choral director, and related volunteers; Choose show for spring musical and contact musical provider for contract; Set musical calendar for auditions, rehearsals, etc; Select musical cast following auditions; Run daily rehearsals of show from February until April; Work with set designer on the construction of set and obtain the necessary set materials; Work with props person to locate and secure all necessary props and set pieces; Work with costume and make-up people; Work with house manager and advertising people regarding tickets and promotions; Work with the theater manager to design show lighting, organize light crew, set lights as well as microphones and audio/sound needs; Organize the taking down of set, returning scripts, props, and costumes at the completion of the show.
