FLYWAY BIOLOGISTS Drones possess the ability to fly long distances while recording high quality aerial footage. They can even be programmed to follow specific flight patterns, avoid obstacles, and capture data. The human eye can only capture so much. Drones may be able to count and categorize bird species by the hundreds per minute, effectively making the lives of flyway biologists and researchers easier.

RESEARCH CENTER This project explores concrete form making processes and revitalizing a concrete industry in the tech district of St. Louis. The program for this project is a 30,000 square foot concrete research center. The building is composed of six levels, each comprised of private and public components.

THERMAL CLEANSE Cleanse: a process during which a person rids the body of toxins. The practice of using heat to rid the body of toxins has been used for centuries. Bathhouses have evolved from focusing on solely thermal medicinal purposes to encompassing social hubs.

PLACE OF REFUGE Every year, thousands of migrants take the dangerous journey across the Mediterranean Sea in hopes of finding a safe place to start over. Hundreds get crammed into boats made for a couple dozen. Wave crashes over wave, sweeping migrants out of the boat and into the sea. Those that do survive never truly start their lives over. Their souls are still tied to the sea; the sea that took away their loved ones and innocent eyes.

Old Chain of Rocks Bridge, St. Louis, MO fall 2018
To design a rest place at the historical site, Old Chain of Rocks Bridge, which spans the Mississippi River as an old connection for the Route 66, this studio aims for both environmental and social considerations of the special site. Starting with the water device, I design a recorder that translates movement of water waves from three-dimensional to two-dimensional drawings on paper. This simple device contains four parts, and it could be placed into any carriers of water, like lakes, rivers, or even bathtubs.

Using the outcomes of the water device to make a collage for furthur inspiration, the next step of the project is a design of single dewelling unit that relates to the previous drawings.

This housing unit is based on a grid system, which delivers the field of dots from the drawings. The space is defined by the density of columns, walls, and glass enclosures.
