TRANSFER YOUR CREDITS WITH EASE

Transferring your credits is easy at SHSU. We make every effort to ensure you receive full credit for the coursework you have completed at other institutions. You can search by school to see which of your college classes will transfer to SHSU with the Transfer Course Equivalency Guide.

APPLY ONLINE Pay the $45 non-refundable application fee at ApplyTexas.org.

SUBMIT YOUR TRANSCRIPTS SHSU requires official transcripts from all institutions where you have enrolled in a course or courses, even if you did not attend or the course was not completed. Contact the school(s) to send official transcript(s) to SHSU (code: 003606)

STUDENT ADVISING AND MENTORING CENTER (SAM CENTER)

SAM Center advisors act as a resource in support of students planning to transfer, or thinking about

transferring, to SHSU. Academic advisors help students research academic options, provide guidance while students attend their current institutions, and help make transitioning to SHSU and completing a four-year degree a success.

We can also help you select your major and assist with finding internships, part-time jobs, and full-time employment opportunities when you graduate.

FINANCIAL AID

Financial aid consists of grants, scholarships, loans and work study.

Most aid, except for scholarships, is based on individual need and eligibility.

■ Grants are gift aid and do not have to be repaid. ■ Scholarships are generally merit-based gifts that do not require repayment. ■ Loans must be repaid with interest. ■ Work Study provides wages for part-time employment with SHSU. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is available on October 1. For faster processing, apply online at fafsa.gov. The FAFSA priority deadline is November 2.
