This harvest class is part of Kuhlman’s Vina Vita University wine education series.

Kuhlman Cellars will host the Vina Vita University winemaking class Grape Expectations on Sunday, July 23, 2023 from 11 am – 1:30 pm. In this entertaining and interactive class, wine enthusiasts will learn all about harvest planning and grape maturation. Students will collect their own grape sample from the vineyard to test and taste in the cellar and then enjoy a special Estate wine tasting. Weather-appropriate clothing and walking shoes are recommended for this class.

During this class, students will:

Learn about Harvest Planning and Grape Maturation Processes / Testing

Walk into the Estate vineyard and learn how to sample grapes

Test their grape sample for sugar and taste

Compare their samples with others in the class to discover sampling variation and uncertainty

Enjoy an exclusive Estate wine tasting, including a 4 year (2019-2022) Estate Red wine tasting to see how the wine changes through the years. The unreleased 2021 and 2022 vintages will be tasted from the barrel. Plus, the 2020 Es- tate Mourvèdre will be tasted next to the 2020 Estate Red.

The class is led by Kuhlman Cellars Vineyard Manager, Michael Maynard. Tickets are $45 per person or $25 for Vina Vita Wine Club Members (Vina Vita Members get special pricing for up to 4 attendees total). Limited seating is available. To purchase tickets, click here.
