In April 2017 I decided to draw a mushroom every day for 100 days. Why mushrooms? Firstly because I love mushrooms. How much? Well here’s a true story: When I passed my GCSE exams and was offered gift as a reward, all I wanted was garlic mushrooms. Secondly, because they cover a range of subject matter that I love to draw; food, nature, patterns and stories. I could illustrate a recipe one day and a children’s story the next - I figured variety was the key to sticking with this for 100 days. The project My aim was to experiement. To try something different each day. A different style, a different subject and different medium. Over the course of the 100 days I drew, painted, sculpted, folded paper, worked with copper and made mushrooms on the beach! Sam Osborne sam-osborne.co.uk
