FESTIVAL INTERNACIONAL DE VIDEO SAMPLES MÉXICO 50 EDICIÓN-2014 TELEQUINESIS: ACCIONES VIDEO COMPARTIDAS. CONVOCATORIA ABIERTA: Samples es un encuentro de vídeo a nivel internacional que se inició en Puebla, México en el 2008, y que a partir de la cuarta emisión toma la modalidad bianual e itinerante.
indague en el desarrollo de la imagen en movimiento con propiedades de sujeto, y en tanto que el espectador, los ‘viewfinders’, dialoguen con ella.
El propósito principal de la muestra consiste en desclasificar el término ‘Vídeo’ cuestionando las prácticas habituales del vídeo-arte.

Samples tiene el interés de explorar el vídeo como una herramienta convergente, que confluye dentro de las diferentes posibilidades de producción de la imagen en movimiento; y en la que diferentes áreas, tanto artísticas como pedagógicas se entrecruzan.
The main purpose of this archive, consists in declassify the term of video. In a way, what we’re trying to do is to use the concept of the moving images in a wider and inclusive form of production. To us, not only the video-art is taken in into account. We’re interested in explore the video as a convergent tool, in which many artistic and pedagogic areas intersects.
Este año celebramos nuestra 5a edición basada en el concepto curatorial “Telequinesis: Acciones video compartidas.” El cual está pensado como continuidad de la cuarta edición, (en la que se indaga en relación al video, video experimental y cinema expandido.) y que para motivos de esta edición, se focaliza en la multiplicidad de la imagen en movimiento. Para ello, nos hemos interesado en aquellas prácticas que utilizando al video como herramienta, traten de generar hibridaciones: video-performance,video-danza, cine interactivo, video-acción, y cualquier tipo de producción que independientemente de su cualidad ‘artística’ y etiqueta narrativa,
We believe that the video provides a whole new way of thinking in relation with the images, but most of all, in relation to what the images are trying to say by movement.
Samples is a video showcase started on 2008 at Puebla, Mexico. Since the fourth edition samples has been transformed into an itinerant and bi-annual show.
This year (2014) we’ve reached our fifth edition, based on the curatorial concept of “Telekinesis: video shared actions” In which we’re trying to give continuity to our previous showcase (based on video, experimental video and expanded cinema) so that, we’re focused on the movement image’s performativity. We’ve great interest in those practices that using the video as a tool, are interested on generating hybrids, such as video-performance, video-actions, interactive cinema, mix software- video and any kind of video-production that gets involved into the images in movement as a subject quality, and while so the spectator, ‘the viewfinder’ get involved.
Parámetros Generales: 1.La Inscripción es individual o colectiva. 2.Obra generada desde el 2005 a la fecha, (cantidad ilimitada). 3.Cualquier idioma / Subtítulos en Español o Inglés. 4.Duración Máxima de 15 minutos (incluyendo créditos) !!!La Autoría de los videos queda bajo responsabilidad de los participantes. !!!FECHA LÍMITE DE RECEPCIÓN: 10 DE AGOSTO 2014. Envio: En un sólo mail que incluya: -Formulario de participación completado. (En éste se deberán incluir los links de los vídeos.) -Tres stills formato jpg [640x480/300 dpis] Enviar toda la información adjunta al siguiente e-mail: samples.mx@gmail.com Selección: Los videos seleccionados serán publicados el 17 de Agosto, 2014 en el sitio web y redes sociales. Los eventos, co-curadurías y muestras, se llevarán a cabo a finales del 2014 y durante el 2015, previa notificación a los participantes.

(No limit on submissions) 3.We accept videos in any language (preferently Spanish or English subtitles). 4.The Maximun length is 15 minutes, including titles & credits. !!!The Authorship of the work is on charge of the participants. !!!
