(Gathering - Neighborhood Enhanced Community) The design vision of this residential area is based on the name Tang Convergence (棠樾), which means “gathering”. However, Gathering spaces are rarely found in Phase One and Phase Two. Thus, the aim of this design vision is to enhance the community feeling among families and neighborhoods.
Under this scheme, the following facilities will be considered: • Places for gathering and activities which should be clearly defined by placing most of the facilities at the most common and accessible spaces. • A landscape which emphasizes conserving existing natural water streams/ ponds and enhancing the green experience.

Lack of Communal Spaces The different phases seem to be separated with insufficient amenities places that are suitable for informal social interaction or gatherings.

Improving the connection and interaction between the dispersed elements of the site can increase the connectivity and communication between phases and the residents with their neighbors. Also, to conserve and promote Chinese heritage and identity of the site. In addition, it helps conserve valuable places with historical and heritage importance while still contribute to clients’ image and identity with special architectural or memorial value. For instance: • To avoid piecemeal areas in lack of focus, the precincts should be consolidated into clusters of development with each consists of a distinct neighborhood character containing specific disciplines, activities and usages to support more effective sharing of spaces, promotion of stronger sense of identification with the places and the community as well as shortening walking distances within and between each neighborhood. • Assuming that the site plan is derived on flat sites where pedestrian connections are simple and direct. Thus, establishing a network with direct or stepped pedestrian paths between the various parts of various phases should enhance the connectivity throughout the site.
