Customer Spotlights

Our customer Firefly Drone Shows is a team of pilots, engineers and artists who choreograph and produce live drone shows for special events like corporate meetings, holiday shows, sporting events, festivals, etc. Their shows are available with 100, 300, 500, and soon, 1,000 drones. Firefly uses several Samtec connectors in their drones, including LPHT, LPHS, FTMH and CLM. A picture of a drone that uses our connectors is shown below (left), and on the right is the mating interface that shows some of the connectors. Pictured are drone formations from previous shows. There are plenty of online videos showing some of the capabilities of these drones.

Our customer Airstar designs and manufactures products for the lighting industry, but from a unique angle. They are the inventor of inflatable lighting solutions. Their inflatable lights, also called balloon lighting, are used at events (concerts, sports, tradeshows, grand openings, etc.), for film and television production (according to their website, they are well-suited for nighttime exterior shots and hard-to-light places), and to increase safety (they produce a bright light with 360° illumination, but they also reduce eye fatigue). Pictured is Airstar’s balloon lighting used in nighttime construction and providing light at various events. Airstar uses Samtec FFSD and EHF products in their chargers/energy packs.
