PROJECTIONS
A house for two inhabitants. Nicolas Copernicus and Hieronymus Bosch. Programmed around the helicentric theory (eveything revolves around the sun). The center of the house is an outdoor common area, while the remainder extends and orbits from this central location. Bedrooms are the only private areas. Stairs and circulation flow though an atrium.

An architecture of interdependence resisting motion through opaqueness. The living volume was derived from seven dancers in Solange’s performace in the guggenheim. The dancers moved in a forward motion with their bodies resting upon one another. Not dissimilar to structural columns and beams linked in a grid to soppurt a building. The frames around the living volume were derived from Frame by Richard Serra. They operate to create and display views of motion of the inhabitants in the livng volume. As the inhabitants move throughout the space, slivers of their motion are cpaturesd , like stills of a movie on a filmstrip, through time and space.

Passages of Woodlawn: A Cultural Experience brings people of all ages together in the spirit of the African Diaspora, at a hub that is as much of a d Community, Chicago commuters and World travelers, Passages of Woodlawn celebrates the African diaspora in Chicago with local heritage, world cuisine and gardens, innovative student apprenticeship programs, and sustainable technologies. The project is conceived of as four essential programs. To the west of the site, Community Housing rests adjacent to Arts Woodlawn Experience (AWE), while the Diaspora Cuisine Center (DCC) welcomes those coming from east of the site. The east and west routes are linked by the African Heirloom Passage (AHP), a visceral hybridization of architecture, landscape and biological systems.
